Tesla Model Y Rear Spoiler

I have installed a few of these. Easiest way is to mark the middle of the spoiler and march up with the middle of the trunk emblem. You shouldn't remove all the tape backing and only take enough out to be able to stick and then you can pull the rest out slowly as you adjust in place. Removing and adjusting when all the backing is off may affect the adhesiveness of the tape. Also, you want to tape the spoiler onto the body at multiple sections crossing the tape to pull the spoiler onto the body. This will ensure proper adhesion. Lastly, you want to avoid driving the car especially when it is hot for about 3 days if possible. The tape adheres about 50+% when you first put on and you need to allow it to cure for the next 2-3 days. A friend of mine didn't let it cure and drove the next day and it started coming off within a few weeks.

Hows the spoiler holding up? Does one end started coming off already? Specially when it popped back off when you went “whoopsie”. Also it be better to you use a 3m adhesive promoter before you install it on. Then use the heat gun once you installed the spoiler already. Then start pressing down on the spoiler to create more bond. Then use tape to hold the spoiler down for about 2-3 days. If you are planning to drive the next day, you have to tape across the gap on top of your trunk and spoiler, so dirt and air does not get in between while you’re driving. But the spoiler looks good 👍🏼

Hello @baldpnoy410, thank you so much for taking the time to write these comments. Surprisingly, the spoiler is holding up really well with no signs of coming off specifically in the ends. I did use double sided gorilla tape to enhance the stickiness. Yes, it does look good. I like it as it is not your common Tesla Y spoiler. 😉

Hi, thank you! Yes, I ended up putting tape to help it stay and secure. Kept it overnight.
