thank you for this, My model 3 2023 did not have the secondary weather stripping. Also, my passenger front had 5 screws like you mentioned initially but 6 on the driverside, both backs had 3, but did not have the rubber grommet.

Hi there, thank you so much for making these videos. Can you make a video on how to remove side camera for model Y. Much appreciated 😊👍

I wrap cars and literally killed myself running knifeless tape a mm on the gasket to tuck the vinyl in. The passenger side went ok but the driver side was hell. Now I know better. Thanks for the how to.

I wrap as well. That gap can be a nightmare

@@GdayFraz The passenger side gave me a little room to tuck the vinyl but the driver side by the front door was so damn tight. I wish I knew the piece came off at the time. Most cars are riveted on there.

What about the rear quarter panel window trim? How is that removed?
@trcythmpsn2 жыл бұрын
I doubt he removes that. I would guess run knifeless tape a mm or two from the edge and then use tuck tools

What about replacement? Is it easy to install a new one or even the same one that we took out?

I can’t get the rear of part of the trim to sit flush with the rear quarter window trim. When I tighten the bolts back up, the back joint flexes out a tad. (The male-female pieces are joined properly) any tips to get perfect alignment?
@GdayFraz Жыл бұрын
Only time I’ve ever had issues is when the two prong male part breaks, which happens semi frequently. You can try to leave the screw loose closest to the quarter panel and see if it sits Better

@@GdayFraz appreciate the reply and the video. I figured it out. Tesla mobile tech must have tweaked the rear quarter trim while installing the large top part (he had trouble aligning the male-female joint. The rubber gasket that sits between the rear quarter trim and glass got a little wedged until the trim. This pushed it up ever so slightly that when the big upper piece was screwed in, it would bow out a tad at the joint. Kinda hard to explain but happy I figured it out.

Do you need to remove the trim around that quarter window too?
@GdayFraz Жыл бұрын
It’s glued on to the window u fortunately

unfortunately the new model does not come apart like that. That trim piece is together with the small window in the back.
