whats the defference between 3M matte and Xpel stealth? Is there a big difference in look?

Thanks for the message. XPEL is the best film on the market. We are 3M, Suntek, STEK and XPEL certified installers. Unlike most other companies we can offer any film we like, but choose to use only XPEL. In my 18 years of installing Paint Protection Film, and tens of thousands of kits installed, I have had lots of issues with 3M films over the years. I have never had a warranty claim with XPEL in 8 years, where I was getting 4-5 a month with other brands. In the beginning all films look good when properly installed. The differences really start to become evident in about 18 -24 months down the road. You will see the discoloration and more damage to the other brands. 3M matte and XPEL stealth are basically achieving the same thing, creating that dull, matte look. There is a slight difference in texture, but not very noticeable to most people. Hope that helps.

@@randycoffey2401 Thank you so much. I'm more concerned about the price differences to be honest. Because the quote I got on clear 3M (matte) is $3500 where as Xpel Stealth was $6000. And if 3M comes with 10 yr warranty (including if it dulls) I was thinking of going that route. I love the Xpel stealth and the fact the it wraps around the corners (unlike the clear 3M), but at that cost difference it's hard for me to justify the upgrade.

@@fightpicksbymoh7336 Don't base your choice on Price. The $3500 price is cheaper, because it's a lesser quality installer doing the work. You are setting yourself up for disappointment by choosing solely on price. This isn't something you are buying off the shelf, at the grocery store or like your car, where they are all produced exactly the same, and you can compare prices. The shop and the installer doing the work are more important than the film brand. All films should wrap the appropriate edges, and has nothing to do with the film. If you have seen a 3m wrap that didn't wrap the edges, its the installer, not the film. For complete disclosure not EVERY single edge can be wrapped, but with stealth you need to modify every pattern and extension it in order to cover and avoid the shinny OEM paint being noticed. Thats the difference between a lesser quality install and a higher quality install. $3500 is way too cheap for any install much less a Stealth (matte) install. Most wraps take 4-7 days to complete. Take a look at our channel and find the Tesla model 3 part #1 and part #2 video. This was a customer that had his car wrapped in Buffalo NY. He was so upset he drove it down to us the next week and had us remove everything and redo the entire car. The video will show you the differences between a poor job and our work. I am guessing you have a Tesla. Some of the other quality shops in our areas are charging uptown $8500 for matte wrap, so $6500 is a fair and good price for a quality job. We do about 250 Tesla each and every year and have more experience than anyone in the area. The film shouldn't dull, discolor or fade. If it does XPEL warranty covers that for 10 years. Xpel was not only the first company to develop the self healing film, but they were also the first company to offer a 10 year warranty. All the other companies only had a 3-5 year warranty. Additionally, XPEL is so confident in their product, the warranty is transferable if you sell the vehicle. No other companies have the confidence in their film to match the XPEL warranty. Do yourself a favor and don't fall for the low price trap. Not sure where you live, but check out the shops in your area and find a reputable shop and take a look at their work. before you make a decision. Yes there is. The material itself is more expensive and wrapping a vehicle in matte film is more labor intensive.

I went STEK Dynoshield which already has hydrophobic properties built in. You can put ceramic coating on PPF as well but my installer told me you can also just buy the spray on ceramic liquids and apply those after a hand wash to give it the same properties. I'm going to do that anyways to maintain the already built in one from STEK (recommended) but I'm sure those sprays will give any PPF hydrophobics. Hope this helps!

Is it worth to do a full body wrap or maybe just the full front (hood, front bumper, mirror, fenders, head lights etc.)?

The Ford car wrap is a great way to protect your vehicle. However if your budget does not allow you to do so, protect in the most vulnerable areas is very important. The most vulnerable areas are going to vary from car to car. However it’s always the front end, and the lower portions of the doors or rockers where stuff gets kicked up by the tires. When you do a lower portion of the door and rocker panels, you’re going to have a line for the film edge. That drives some people nuts, and they prefer to go ahead and wrap the entire panel. Additionally darker colored vehicles are always prone to spiderweb and swirl marks from washing and maintenance. The Paint Protection Film will eliminate those light marks in the paint, and the need to have them polished out. If somebody is unskilled with a polisher or buffer, that itself can lead to other issues such as burnishing, and holograms in the paint. So wrapping gives you peace of mind that the paint is protected and pan darker colored ace will look better much longer than unprotected areas. Hope this helps.
