you have never owned a pickup truck. Needing more range to pull trailers and needing pull through charging is a real problem and the one that is preventing the cybertruck from selling at a rate that could compete with the big 3 trucks. both me and my brother in law are waiting for a longer range version of cybertruck before we pull the trigger. It needs to be able to replace my Ram 1500. Currently it cannot. I need it to pull my 6000lbs travel trailer and do all the other things my truck does. I have a model 3 and own tesla stock. One thing I never hear mentioned and maybe they will further in the video is many OTR truck drivers in the US get paid by the mile. That means a truck that can climb steep grades at 60 mph instead of 40 mph makes the operator 50% more money per hour during those portions of the haul. Add to that the regen on the downhill effectively giving a free partial refuel. This means the more mountains on the route the more a driver can make vs a diesel truck.

Isn't it amusing now that when we talk about Tesla building new factories it could be for electric cars, it could be for car batteries, it could be for Mega-Packs & now it could be for Semi-Trucks. Hell, why wouldn't they build a factory just for Cybertrucks if they start selling them in Europe & Asia. With so many different factories that they could build for a number of their vehicles how many countries would be interested in having just one of these factories in their country? Elon could please a whole host of different countries with a new factory but he needs to be careful that these countries don't turn on Tesla the way the Biden administration has & weaponized their government departments against Elon, Tesla & SpaceX. The Model Y has become the most sold electrical vehicle in the world, why couldn't the CyberTruck not become the highest selling truck in the world. And why couldn't the Semi be the highest selling Semi in the world. And why couldn't the Mega-Pack sell thousands of Mega-Packs all over the world. And how soon before the Boring Company starts building tunnels all over the world, it's coming too.

Tesla's achievements are astounding, but in order to bury Bill Gate's argument we must be able to make a 1:1 replacement for 100% of the use cases and yes we can do it. Eventually the tech improvements of the 4680 will enable to deliver the 500 mile range Cybertruck without the need of a range extender and without the need to make the battery too heavy. Same thing applies to the Tesla Semi. There's still no sleeper cab (altough the design would already allow to have it) and by the time Tesla releases it, I am confident their battery tech will allow them to increase the range for all long haul requirements to at least 650 miles or perhaps even 700 miles.
