Tesla Robotaxi: Elon Musk Sets August Date for Unveiling

Elon Musk’s promise to unveil Tesla’s robotaxi on August 8 delivered a rebound for the company’s stock Monday, which closed last week as the worst performer in the S&P 500 this year. Craig Trudell reports on Bloomberg Television.

"Longer delay", he may not be wrong. Check their unveil and production dates on previous models. Some are quick within a year, but others like Semi and Roadster 2.0 haven't seen production or mass unit production 6 years after being launched. By the way, robotaxi has been teased by Musk for years. As per Cathie Wood, 1 million robotaxis should have been driving on the road by 2020.

The reason for the roadster is kinda obvious They only sold 3200 roadsters from 2008. So the model roadster 2.0 will only sell 5000 max annually Most people don't realise that. It's a homage vehicle to their first. It will sell at $250,000

What exactly is an "unveil" or "launch" of Tesla Robotaxi? It is the same Vaporware con that Musk has pulled for about 10 years with FSD just to pump up the prices of TSLA stock. Does anyone have a real fully functional FSD in their Tesla yet as of 4/10/2024? Waymo is the undisputed leader of autonomous vehicles followed by Cruise, Tesla is not even in the game. All the pump and dump from Musk will not change this fact. Remember Musk promised a million Robotaxi on the road a few years ago, was Musk lying then or is he lying now?

How? The FSD cannot even avoid portholes and caused my Model 3 to have a suspension upper arm failure. What if the car go over portholes in FSD mode and loses control and cause a major incident and kill someone. Who is at fault? And, there is no rear cross-traffic alert, the Tesla cannot back up by themselves if they get stuck in some situations. OMG. I hope Mr. Musk thinks twice.

Bloomberg - the TESLA robotaxi is NOT for any consumer to BUY, it costs $500,000 each. consumer can buy TESLA FSD for $199/mo.

Indeed, the 25K car should be easy for the Musk who builds Spacex and Starlink. Some guys are idiotic to think a compact car is complicated. The Cybertruck was delayed because of Covid and the car was imbedded with new technologies like steer by wire, 48V architecture and Gigapress. Elon likes to build something new. I think compact cars will still be build but will come after the Robotaxi. FSD performance is excellent and this triggers the Robotaxi. I think Tesla should act fast to claim the title of Fsd king before others catch up. If e-commerce is to Amazon, and Social Networking is to Facebook, then Fsd is to Tesla!
