I have always preferred inflators that do NOT have an internal battery, using the car's battery instead. The reason for this preference is I dread having one more battery to maintain and keep charged. I live in the northeast, where it is cold in the winter. The winter cold results in frequent tire under-pressure and it is also hard on small battery packs, like those in tire inflators. The fact that two of these inflators have direct-wire options is great and potentially will solve the dead internal battery issue. I would have been great if you had run-down the internal battery on the two units with external power wires and then timed them on the 20 to 48 psi inflation test using external power only. My suspicion is their performance on external power and a dead internal battery will be worst to much worse compared to using their own battery. If you did test this I would be interested in the result. All the best.

I use a bicycle floor pump, instead of those electrical inflateurs. I had a flat with my Tesla recently and after patching the hole, I was able to inflate my tire with my bicycle floor pump and continue my trip. Cost less than $10

I just used the Fanttik for the first time and it worked flawlessly. I have no doubt there are more powerful inflators, especially if filling a tire from flat. But for routine top ups, it takes all the stress and worry out of finding a place to fill the tires and not having to worry about it whether it's the right psi. You just select the target number and press go. A minute later or less, it's done. Repeat 3x. Used almost no battery. And the case makes it perfect for storing in the frunk.

Avid Power for the win! Wolfbox might be better on paper, but all my cars have the Avid Power inflators and have never had an issue.
@keetonkatt46213 ай бұрын
For those inflators that use a cigarette lighter plug in, you have to make sure that they will work with the newer Tesla's 16V battery rather than the standard 12-14V system of most cars. I have a few accessories that simply would not work with my 2023 Tesla due to an over-voltage condition. I think all of the devices you tested can run off of a battery that you can charge with a USB-C port but you did not test battery life - my cheap inflator will do about one tire from empty to full and will have less than 50% battery life remaining. You might also want to test charging time using the Tesla's USB-C ports to see how long you are really going to be stuck inflating the tire(s). I hate to say this, but based on your demonstration, I am not bowled over by the Wolfbox. The screw on valve means that you will lose a measurable amount of air unless you are very quick. While you were quick to dismiss it, I think the Tesla inflator with the slime dispenser will actually be more useful (even if it is lacking some convenience features) if you have an actual leak and it is a Sunday evening when all of the tire stores are closed.

Hi Gjeebs, I found and subscribed to your channel back in 2020 when I got my first model Y. Thanks for all the great information and your sense of humor. Yesterday I ordered a tire inflator on Amazon from your store and just like to confirm you get credit for the order. I never ordered a product from someone’s Amazon store before and wanted to make sure you receive credit. Just a way of saying thank you for all the great information and entertainment.

As always, great review!! I have been using the Syncwire and really love it. I use it for my 2024M3P and 2022YLR to keep them inflated to spec. I also love it for my wide-tire electric bikes, and pool toys. I can throw it in my trunk, frunk, and it easily fits in my bike’s nap sack too with plenty of room to spare. At only 18 liters per min, it’s still pretty fast for my needs. While the others may have higher LPM’s at higher prices, they aren’t as convenient for me. In terms of ease of use, size, portability, battery life, flexibility, quality and value this little guy fits the bill for me.

Are all of those chargers running using an internal battery? Or when using a 12V plug, how much current will be used, because the 12V plugs have always a max current limitation.

The Wolfblox seems to be the winner but I don't like the busy design on the front. I have the Fantik Apex and love it, however it seems you get a bit better bang for the buck with the Wolfblox with the additional cigaratte lighter(12v) charger and case. I had to purchase a case separate for my Fantik. The Fantik look best by far, but kind of pricey. Thanks for the review

I considered these sorts and decided to get the real deal, Milwaukee M18 Cordless. It can handle a completely deflated tire easily, not just one tire. If you think about it, how many of these gadgets would you want to buy over time? Just get the real thing and never look back.

Honestly, I don't think the majority of Tesla owners are the handy type. These "gadgets" are aimed at those people. For people that are already invested in one of the major tool brands ecosystems it's a no brainer to just get your brands compressor and call it a day.

I’d love to hear more about how the Avid edged Tesla. On a serious note, I have the Syncwire inflator. It’s great because of its size, but obviously not the choice if you need a substantial fill up, like you tested here. I used it a couple time on my trip up the coast for 3-5psi increases, and it only took a few seconds which is nice

The new Tesla one says Max Pressure: 80 psi Flow Rate: 25 L/min at 0 psi It has a digital read out as well. You tested an outdated version that shows' "out of stock". Should you buy it for 110$...well it does include the tire repair as well. It really does not matter. If I have to spend $99 on a portable air pump...it will be the Tesla brand.
