Hey Venom, thanks for taking the time with this video. I was wondering what the Peak solar Kw you have collected at a given time? Not sure if im getting this wrong but if we got the 12.24 Kw panel system should you be close to collecting that much kw give or take?

You multiply size of your system by the amount of hours of full sun the panels get per day then subtract ~10% for efficiencies and other loses. That will give you a rough estimate of daily production (sun hours peak depends on your location). Right now my highest for a single day was 96Kwh.

How much power do you generate on a daily basis? Not sure where you're located east/west but I'm getting a similar system about 22kw but I've been stuck on the utility interconnect for over 2 months now. Can't wait to get my system installed as my electric cost are over 900 a month. Sweet system man I'm jealous

Seems to average 75Kwh a day. Highest I’ve recorded so far is 86Kwh.

Glad you went off topic. This I’m interested in. Decided to get Tesla 12 panel, 2 PW+ system after whole house generator quote of $15K. Primarily purpose of Tesla system is as emergency backup for gas furnace during winter months. Nice to hear someone else came to accept string inverter solution over micro-inverter or optimizer. Trees around my house similar to yours, but like you I’ve removed those that would be shadow nemesis for a string inverter. My last concern is water heater leak. Noticed your PWs stack directly on basement floor. Any concern?

I am not too concerned because everything is rated to be outside but also the water heater has an automatic shutoff valve and leak detection. Once the utility room is framed there will also be a connection to the sump pump.

Hey nice install 4 PW. I just installed a 14.62kW system for my house in FL. Waiting on PO. I have a question you said you have a small and big inverter..meaning 3.6 and 7.6. but that will not produce the 15kW that you got. My system at peak production does 8 for the 7.6 Inc and 4 for the 3.6 inv. Can someone correct me if I am wrong, thanks. Tesla rocks!

You are correct, mine peaks at 12 Kwh but has a total of 46x 340w panels. The undersize inverters are to increase efficiency in the early morning and late afternoon hours therefore increasing your overall solar production. The roof pitch has a lot to do with the system design as well.

@@VenomGT87 I know Tesla App monitors TOTAL solar production, but are you (or Tesla) able to monitor solar production of your 6 INDIVIDUAL strings? I’m in middle of Tesla design for 12 panels and 2 PW+ storage batteries using Tesla integrated inverter/gateway. I know I can’t monitor INDIVIDUAL panels, but would like to “break” my 12 panels up into two strings of 6 panels or 4 strings of 3 panels so I can monitor these INDIVIDUAL strings.

Examining the architecture of the inverters it looks like it may be possible but that is on Tesla to add to their app. You could however manually get read outs at the inverter connection but that is risky and other than for system check after you notice lower production than normal I don’t see practicality.
