It is about the 0-60 acceleration speed time, so typically electric cars are a lot faster than gas because the power is almost instant, so if the light turns green and you both accelerate at the same time, the electric car would get to the speed limit (example: 60mph) faster

No kidding. Apparently the 1.9 0-60 is a "safe" rating as it's limited by street-legal performance tires. Not sure if that's for r-compound or not. Proper stickies may get it down another 3-4 tenths, which at that low of times is insane. Top speed is just limited by the gearing, since on a street car acceleration is preferable anyway.

I love how Elon Musk spooked the auto industry, especially European automakers, into taking EV's more seriously. For decades they kept screaming "nobody wants electric cars!" And for a while they were right. Then Tesla came along and started stealing a lot of their customers away, forcing them to design their own EV's lest they lose more sales. Now they brag about how they're coming out with a "Tesla fighter/killer" EV, that will totally beat Elon at his own game. Then Elon nonchalantly introduces Roadster 2.0...

@Vince Vega Customs The reason why Tesla parts cost so much is due to the economies of scale, There are only around 200K Teslas in the world right now (X,S,and 3) while other manufactures produce millions of vehicles per year, the more parts you produce the cheaper they are to make and sell. While Tesla disabling vehicles is a problem, they only seem to be doing it to salvage vehicles and they have good reason to; every time there is a Tesla involved in an accident the media blasts it all over the place in an attempt to discredit Tesla (when there are Ford Explorers literally gassing their owners that get hardly any news coverage). The last thing Tesla needs is some idiot rebuilding one (and doing it improperly) and killing himself in it or burning it to the ground and their cars being touted as unsafe because of it. I think they will, and need to change their policies when they start ramping up production but there are very good explanations for what they are doing.

Current charging times on the Model 3 are about 180 miles of range in 30 minutes on current Superchargers. Version 3 of the Superchargers will increase charging speeds on the newer packs. I expect the Roadster to be able to gather over 300 miles of range in 30 minutes.

Robert Blackford, No the car has a 600 mile range, but he just used 180 miles/30 minutes as an example of the charge rate. The full total charge time is about 12 hours at 220v I believe. However, the super chargers have almost double that voltage.

I'm in! I towed a Model X recently, to a charging station. Tesla pays for this, so they ask the customer to provide a survey on the service they received. I guess we did it right, they called and asked if we wanted to be a certified service provider. I need to go to school now, you don't tow these like every other car... gotta find that shift lock override to get a discharged car in neutral!

When I was on vacation in Hawaii with my dad, we happened across the Tesla dealership. We test drove the Model X, and even got to experience the P100D's zero-to-sixty in 2.5 seconds. It was pretty wild, and made me that much more motivated to reach a point where I can afford one of these cars.
