Morrowind had the best concepts in the franchise I think. Really love the world and lore surrounding that game.

Yep. The quality dipped hard going from Morrowind to Oblivion in terms of the world, in my opinion. My second favorite Elder Scrolls game.
@roach93977 жыл бұрын
Yeah. Oblivion was the first Elder Scrolls game to try and be super realistic. The series has definitely taken a turn towards generic fantasy in terms of setting, but that could always change.

I agree. Vvardenfell feels so alien and different, hostile to the very core. Cyrodiil was a huge disappointment for me, it didn't have the appeal that Vvardenfell had, not even close.
@danwizzle917 жыл бұрын
Triss Merigold to be honest If they mixed it up depending on province I would be ok with that, I.e. keeping the non human provinces fantastical and alien when alien and (if they HAVE TO be a little more grounded with human provinces really would have loved the pre oblivion cyrodil though, especially the cultures. I'm praying that the backlash on fallout 4 makes Beth rethink their direction and put the magic into their next flawed masterpiece

Morrowind's story was a true masterpiece. I remember that when I've learned about the truth behind the fall of lord Nerevar Indoril, I couldn't manage to bear all that emotional impact for days. It's a shame that Skyrim didn't manage to archieve Morrowind's level of storytelling.

I've always loved the moral ambiguity surrounding the Tribunal. While they murdered Nerevar and lied to their people they also protected them, and ruled Morrowind benevolently. When you were referring to tonal architecture it reminded me of this poetic verse: "Earth's music is melodic and chains you to Earth; the music of the spheres, which you hear with your inner-ears, is deeply tonal-not melodic. The rhythms and tones of nature's music, which sings it's language in the octaves of light, have always within them the pulsing rhythms of the universal heartbeat" - Walter Russell

Some small notes on this: - the Anticipations is a specific term to refer to the Good Daedra during the Tribunal period. We don't have any evidence that the term Anticipations was used before the Tribunal's apotheosis. - One of the interpretations of the exodus was that Boethiah convinced the Chimer to go to mainland Tamriel in order to experience hardship, that would forge them into better people. - there is a full account that notes the Tribunal killed Nerevar, drawing on Ashlander tradition, not just the FOUL MURDERT and "He was not born a god..." message in the 36 Lessons. Otherwise, a good summary. Enjoyed it!

"Anticipations" isn't really applicable to the 3 daedra in a way you put it. It was a change in doctrine after the rise of the Tribunal - the daedra were reinterpreted as temporary deities in anticipation to the true gods - the Tribunal themselves. "Almalexia is the Anticipation of Boethiah etc". Other way around.
