Tessanne Chin, Fraser-Pryce named Persons of the Year

Two of Jamaica's most celebrated women, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and Tessanne Chin, created history on January 30, 2014 when they were jointly chosen as the 2013 Gleaner Honour Awards Persons Of The Year during a gala awards luncheon at The Jamaica Pegasus hotel in New Kingston.

I can't stand bad mind jealous people, both women have worked hard in their profession, toiled n sweat n sacrifice to make it this far they both deserve the award. Nothing against Tessane Chin, but I don't think she has done anything to be honoured alongside Shelly Ann Fraser. Fraser is the greatest female athlete in the world and greatest female sprinter ever. Chin has not even recorded an album yet, or sold any albums or charted any singles. All she has done is prevailed in a reality show contest.

well I think you're missing the point. As of Feb 2014, how many people have heard or knew who Shelly Ann Fraser is compared to those who know who Tessane Chin is and which country she is from. In terms of putting Jamaica on the world map, I think Tessane Chin is more valuable and has done more than Shelly.
