I hear you on the postpartum emotions, with my first baby I cried over everything too. Same feeling of when I think of him growing up, or getting hurt for whatever reason. It was overwhelming feeling and I think it should be told to first time moms so that they are not blinded by it. So glad you are doing well now and Theo is so cute 🥰

Thank you for talking about your postpartum experience. I had the most intense paranoia about something happening to my baby when he was born last year. I couldn't relax and kept thinking of worst case scenario of every situation we were in and it was incredibly scary and exhausting. It was not even on my radar prior to giving birth, I was more worried about baby blues and not being able to take of my child because of that. Then this paranoia hit me hard and I had to fight this ocd of wanting to check on him all the time and make sure he was okay. I felt like I was losing my mind. I did some talk therapy to help me work through those feelings and that was helpful and then of course him getting older helped too and just settling into being a new mom calmed my nerves. Sending you so much love 💕 Theo is adorable. You all make the cutest family ♥️

Yessss those first few weeks were on another level for me too. I didn't cry. It was almost the opposite. I had virtually no emotion. I just felt that insane irrational worry and anxiety over everything. What if I drop her? What if someone comes while I'm sleeping and takes her? What if I shake her? For me it did get noticeably better after a few weeks. But I didn't feel like myself for probably 7 months. Looking back I should have looked into getting medication or something. So new mamas reading this, it does get better! That may look like getting some extra help to get your hormones regulated again, but it will get better! And you are a good mom even if your hormones are telling you different. You can do this and you are not alone. 💜

As a two time unexpected c-section mom, you’re still going to want the spray bottle and tucks pads. After a long labor that ended in surgery, my nether regions still experienced trauma and needed extra help. (On top of the trauma from the surgery....fun times.) Also, a belly band is a must! The hospital gave me one both times, but it definitely helped despite have surgery. I preferred the one the hospital gave me bc it was specifically for c-section mamas vs vaginal.

Thank you so much for sharing your postpartum experience! I’m having my first baby in 3 months and I’m already a very emotional, easily stressed person at times. I’ve also been having a lot of anxiety already thanks to all the hormones. So I’m a little nervous about that, but seeing that other people went through it and made it out the other side gives me a lot of hope!

Yes! Get something for your belly! I was in so much pain because it felt like my guts/insides were going to come out! Idk if it was the extra weight I had put on, the stretching from pregnancy, or everything in between… but it does feel like jelly and you feel gravity pulling down!! I don’t know if my family believed me but I was like no I need this because if not I’m in pain! Especially while walking or on car rides oh my goodness! Nobody speaks about these things!!

I love this video! I’m about to give birth in June to my 2nd baby 😊. Postpartum with my 1st baby was so difficult. I kept crying because I was a new mom and I was in so much pain crying wishing I can take care of my baby properly, crying about my milk not coming in until the 5th day and I already felt like a failure as a mom, crying about how grateful I am to be a mom, like I just cry and cry everyday during the first 2-3 weeks. Postpartum depression is sooo real.

Love this, great idea doing a what's in my bag post partum as opposed to before giving birth. What you want/actually end up using is very different coming out of it than going into it. Also want to note, because I literally see this with every "what's in my hospital bag video", not all hospitals provide the things you think they will provide. Just a PSA for anyone watching this who is not from the USA. I think generally yes hospitals will provide these things but every hospital and country is different. Example the hospital I gave birth at did not provide baby wipes. They gave facecloths to use instead to be more eco-conscious. Great idea in hindsight but I had twins and it was a real pain as a first time mom to clean those sticky meconium poops with a rough hospital facecloth. And have to keep running back and forth to the bathroom to rinse it and wash it and come back. Had I known they wouldn't provide wipes I would of brought my own. Long story short, do the hospital tour if you can and ask questions. Some hospitals also have list's of what they provide on their websites...
