@@nereamya Exactly! It’s so wrong to rush through the process. Give mom a chance to dilate. Baby was fine without the pitocin, so give it a fair chance. C-section is major surgery. Too many are not even necessary.

@@corpselizzy most healthcare professionals agree that it is safe for 48 to 72 hours after the water breaks for labor to naturally occur, especially when already under the care of a doctor. So no need to attack someone's parenting skills because they didn't agree with a doctor rushing a natural process. You must be a "great" mother with your lack of understanding of science and your lack of empathy towards others.

We also were in Brooklyn and delivered at mount Sinai on the UES. But when my water broke the contractions started coming every minute. I started pushing on the Brooklyn bridge. I tried to be quiet to not scare the poor Lyft driver.

i'm having a repeat csection by choice, i had an emergency csection that my doctor had given me the choice of vaginal but i would risk baby dying or getting stuck do to being breech and me personally id rather be cut open and deal with csection recovery than the risk of losing my baby. So this pregnancy me and my OB both agreed from the very beginning i wanted a repeat csection the pain wasn't that bad neither was recovery so id rather schedule it and have my baby safely than complain like most women these days about my OB "taking my choice of a natural delivery away" like having a csection is the worst thing in the world to happen.

my family, my friends, and my husband even all agreed a repeat csection was the best thing. and i have family members that are midwives and have been doing it for years that still personally thought i should have a repeat csection

Sorry you had a bad experience with pitocin. I had a great one. Had my baby 3 hrs after pitocin and getting my water broke. My babygirl was completely healthy and I pushed her out in 9 minutes. 4 pushes. I also had an epidural and alot of people are against being induced and getting an epidural. It didn't slow my birth down at all. So glad you and baby are healthy!

I don’t think anybody who has a c section ever wants one. I just wish it wasn’t frowned upon especially when a woman gets it for medical reasons. Please don’t let those that have had one feel bad for making those decisions. I wish that stigma was broken.

I find it so weird that you're not allowed to eat during labour? In Europe one of the most important things is to eat to make sure you have enough energy to deliver the baby

They require that if you give birth in the hospital just in case you end up needing and emergency C-section. Personally I labored at home as long as I could so I could eat and drink as much as I wanted before having to be in the hospital.
