Definitely my favorite blade from Cold Steel, love the feel of this bad boy. If you're on the edge of buying this puppy - go for it, you will definitely be glad you did. Already had mine for months, but seeing this cut and stress test makes me that much more happy with my purchase. Top quality company. Have had their knives for years with zero malfunctions or issues. Also the ti-lite 6 in blade is a great EDC in my opinion. Perfect for precision.

If that handle were 2 inches longer.... I'd buy it. Crazy awesome and beautiful tho! No one beats Cold Steel. No one tests their product like this.
@bushcraft_in_the_north2 жыл бұрын
why a longer handle, the handle is quite long allready. It is not a two handed sword it's a knife. And you must be able to change grip fast, so the grip is perfect. These grips are the best grips CS has ever made.
@semadragun7 ай бұрын
Agreed, i love mine but yeah i wish the handle was a little longer, people with small hands wont understand.
@redfaux747 ай бұрын
@semadragun Yes, and most people have never used a short sword for anything. You need a little play in the handle. A 12 inch Tanto has been on my wish list for many years. They're very aerodynamic.

You would need pants with pockets that go all the way to your knee. But I love the idea. The Rajah ll that I got in the mail in March is everything I need and more. Anything else is a sword. Imagine a walking stick with this in it.

A very convincing knife to ask an unwanted element to leave the premises immediately 😉👍🏻 Fantastic demonstration of cutting/slicing power 😁 Grueling bend test 😳 One little thing… especially for a Tanto this size you could have considered to demonstrate the impact of a fast forward thrust/stab with the tip 😁 Very impressive puncture power

my fave EDC has turned out to be the ti-lite 4 zytel. Always wanted one because it looks cool, never thought it'd be practical. Boy was I wrong, it's like a perfect knife. Even my 9yo daughter loves it. We were in the woods cutting sticks, gave her the ti-lite to try instead of her Mora. After a few cuts she said I could keep the Mora, lol

@budthecyborg45753 жыл бұрын
Sooo, what would happen if, say, you take the same blade, give it a stonewash finish, and use Griv-Ex instead of Aluminum for the handle fittings? Maybe a Magnum Scout could cut the price by 30%? I'd definitely take AUS-10 if that would knock the price down even more, VG-10 and AUS-10 are roughly equivalent in my mind so if AUS-10 costs significantly less then I'd say it's the better option.
@elihollingsworth68522 жыл бұрын
Better yet, high-carbon steel, 15 inch blade, keep the handle the same. Sell it for $160.
@budthecyborg45752 жыл бұрын
@@elihollingsworth6852 Most likely the factory making these can't Heat Treat anything longer than 18", so the blade length is probably fixed at 12". The handle is probably where most of the cost of the knife is, so without changing that you're not going to cut the price very much.
@elihollingsworth68522 жыл бұрын
@@budthecyborg4575 I don't really see how the handle would cost that much; it's mostly the San mai blade which is ridiculous anyway.

I bought the Mini Tanto way back in 1985 or 86. I took it with me into the Army and it traveled all over the world. Many people wanted to trade for it or buy it from me. Koreans, Germans, fellow soldiers, but I never sold or traded it. It's been through car doors, steel cans, belted tires, trees, Kevlar, and many other hard to cut or pierce objects. I've never sharpened it, only stropped it on leather, and it still shaves the hair off of my arm. After all of that abuse, there's only a tiny nick in the blade just below the tip. I'll never part with it and it's the best knife I've ever owned.
@Vladpryde2 жыл бұрын
I have the 6" Master Tanto in San Mai, which was one of the last ones sold before Lynn sold the company. There are a couple of surface blemishes on it, including a small vertical scratch on the left side of the spine that you can feel with a thumb nail, as well as horizontal surface scratches on the left-side of the spine stretching about half-the length of the blade. I half-considered sending it back, but seeing as how it's going to be a carry knife and probably used for car defense, then I opted not to. It also wasn't as sharp as I expected it to be. But my next blade will be a Master Tanto in 3V, so hopefully it will be finished better than this one was. Overall, I give my San Mai version a 3 out of 5.

I purchased a cold steel immortal in September of this year, was very excited to add another triad lockback tanto addition to my CS knife collection, and the USPS delivery service lost the knife in the mail! I filed a report to the postal inspection service last month and they've done absolutely nothing to date. I was home waiting for the package the whole time to arrive. Even took off work while I received two other separate orders in the mail that day. Unable to get a refund from the online retailer as the package shows it was "delivered". Absolute incompetence from my local USPS service as I take a huge loss for their "error" they're not willing to admit.

Not that bad the price . I use Klarna to buy my more expensive knifes . Zero interest and you pay the first payment upfront and 3 more payments every 2 weeks . Zero interest…. Just purchased the Spyderco darn dao flash batch . They had 1 left at blade hQ and it’s a beast . It was 455 total and I pay 121 ever other week . Have 1 payment left. Then my next Klarna use is for the Medford Usmc fighter. It’s 500 bucks . I could buy it straight up , but why if it’s zero interest. Plus I can save my cash if I need it , and when you’re done paying them off it’s like you got it for free in a crazy way . I only say that is because all the money I would waste each paycheck on stupid shit like scratch tickets and other junk . Knowing I have to make my payments keeps me from wasting money on crap that is worthless from Walmart or 711 . Plus high end knifes are a investment. Well the ones I buy

@benth1622 жыл бұрын
I don't consdier that a true test of its sharpness, but of strength. When you hit your target in a downward sloping attack, the resistance is enhanced by that downward stroke against it being held aloft with a hook. If you truly want to test the sharpness of that blade, hit that rope at a 90-degree angle perpendicular to that hanging length of rope. Almost all of the Katana videos I've seen with a person slicking through a bundle of reeds, do so at a downward angle. It is all for show !
