Test and Review of the OERLA Tac OLF-1009 fixed blade knife

Review and testing the Oerla Tac OLF-1009 fixed blade knife with sheath. Great little knife and great price! BTW the weight of the knife is 6.8 oz. I got that confused and stated that it was the over all length. My mistake.

Oerla is a american owned company located in California they are designed here in the states and contracted out to china companies. they have been in business selling outdoor gear since about 1987 or so.

I just bought mine. Finally decided to go EDC fixed blade. I've found that if my knife is handy, I'll be using it. I got tired of reaching for my knife clip and refolding it.

I got the more exotic looking OLL 005 a month ago and I, too, love the thing. It's 9.5" OAL. I like OERLA quite a bit.

Had a question about a duty belt fitting the locking system on the sheath. From my measurements I can tell you the largest that will fit is 2 1/4 inches wide and 5/16 inches thick. Anything larger may not work out. It does come with a plastic adjustment spacer for smaller belts. Hope that helps.

I love mine and use it often. For the price I don't think you will be disappointed. Only con to me is it's small grip. I wear a med/large glove and it doesn't bother me but if you have extra large hands it might. Thanks for watching!

Hey John I know this video is older but I'll tell you what I collected all those knives they're really well made the spine is really thick on them they're a solid knife full Tang you were absolutely right on them and razor sharp I mean razor sharp thank you for sharing 👍

@@fit4knives882 yezzir, I've pushed my past the limits and got it stuck in some nasty knotty wood too. One time ( this was when I first got the knife and didn't really care about it because just assumed it was a cheap thing) it was so stuck in the wood I couldn't get it out and I went to eat dinner, after eating I went back outside with a mallet to knock the handle and finally get this knife back out of this log, and that blade did not have one flaw no bends, no wiggles, no chips, nothing. Stuff like that is the reason why it eventually landed on my belt as my EDC . They know how to heat treat a knife.
