I have to retract my comment earlier . It is not a 51 . They welded in the tail lights on the fins . And 51 didn't have a trunk deck lid. Absolutely a cool ride .

Hi , Nick . I hope you don't mind me commenting ? I got bad doo-doo from one 'guy' for daring to contribute my 65 years of true passion of hot rods , customs and drag-racing machinery , on somebody else's site ! Thank you so much . I enjoyed every moment of this . I felt I was riding along with you . As you said ," what a blast ! " I'm going to have to dig out a few Hot Wheels 'Jaded' , and build them as proper sky-high gassers like yours . Their 'stance' ( oooh 😟) is way down in the weeds , and probably far more efficient at speed . However , most 'traditions' are way cooler to me . Helps with weight distribution at the launch , right ? Loved it . Cheers from Pete in UK 🤓

Love that gasser 53! I would like to have that car despite the rust and bumpy ride, its a dragstrip gasser that is STREETABLE . I don't mind the open headers, I'm hard of hearing!!! That car must really come from CINCINNATI Ohio as the doors state since there is Ohio George autograph on the firewall. George is the famous gasser racer from the 60s with his 427 SOHC 33 Willys. He hails from Dayton Ohio which is close to Cincinnati

What a cool little brutal machine! A true flying coffin ⚰! 😅 Gassers are so cool, I'll never fully believe they were built this way because they would go faster, I'm pretty sure the first person to build one, did because he thought it was bonkers! Then sure, maybe technology at the time made it so that by pushing the engine as far back as possible, tried and true method, coupled with the weird suspension set up, you could skim a few tenths at the starting line, but who knows really? Anyhow, I love how rough and basic this thing is, it sounds raspy as fk, and it rips! It's so loud and vibrates so much that doing 60 probably feels like 180!!😅 I really want one one day, this would have been perfect, specially at that price, a real steal! Thanks for sharing and making us dream a little.. 👌🏻🖤🏴☠️
