Definitely a synchro problem. Clutch adjustment won't help the grinding going into gear.

Being only 2nd gear grinds, might that be synchros more so than a clutch adjustment??

Yes, it's not just grinding at high rpms, it grinds when down shifting too. That's not a clutch problem.

Remember, when you shift to 2nd, clutch rev shift, for this will keep this from the grind on the trans. When you do this it works on a higher rev for the synchro's every time. To the new owner, you got one hell of nice 56 Bel- Air and that is for sure. Congrarts on your buy.

A dark blue/white paint scheme on any shoebox Chevy just looks so perfect, like it was made for the car. And so does Cragar SS/American Racing wheels. Maybe it's that 60's vintage hot rodder vibe? It's nice to see a '56; usually the only shoebox Chevys you see are 55's and 57's

I hope the new owner tears the transmission apart because it definitely needs the 1-2 synchros and a seal and case gasket kit because you can see the oil leaking from the seams and there's an exhaust leak on the passenger side at the front of the muffler.

This is a really nice car,I love the looks of the fifty sixes,always have.Does this have a performance cam?.My father had a 1955 chevy when I was a kid,when he bought it at the time,it was a demonstrator,it had a blue flame six.The 56s were coming out,he didn't care for the looks of the 56,so he went with the 55which he liked better.Me,on the other hand,didn't care for the 55s looks,I always liked the looks of the 56,and even the 57,but the 56 is my absolute favorite for it's looks.John M Guinto

I'm not gonna lie I have never liked the body style of the 50s chevys until I got this channel and got to see them in and out the same goes for 67 camaros I was always a 69 lover but after seeing them on this channel I'm now a 67 lover and even a 50s lover this is a sweet chevy right here🤌🏼 I'm counting down the days until I will be able to come to maple motors and take nick on a test drive in something with a big block 😁 or an ls....I'm not picky😂 and make that drive back to "Chicago"✌🏼

I'm not a fan of the 56 lol the front turn signals were way too big lol the front end is flat. But this is a beautiful car! Love the color combination!! 3:30

It's missing one lower transmission mount bolt (right side) and a second one (left side) is about to fall out. That leave the two top bolts holding it in one would hope. Plus a pretty bad oil leak - might be the trans, but bears further investigation. Nice looking car. Some what should be relatively minor mechanical issues. Still has original style motor mounts.
