Sweeeeet! There's no ear candy like the exhaust note of a big-block Chevy coming out of a set of side pipes, especially from inside of the car. That's a good price for a big-block/4-spd. C3, even if the engine isn't original to the car. The L-88 hood is already on there, now all that is needed is some white Baldwin-Motion stripes to create a nice little tribute cruiser. 😄👍🇺🇸

I just spent a year bringing one of these back from the dead. Numbers matching 68 small block 327 3 speed coupe in safari yellow. True barn find that sat for 20+ years so I got her at a steal. Nothing special but absolutely no frame rust or birdcage rot. Had more things fixed rebuilt or replaced than I can list but she’s still mostly original. She’s getting straight pipes with new headers right now. Then interior and paint correction. By the time I’m done everything is going to work and she’s going to drive like a brand new 53 year old car. Totally worth it.

Plus it’s a sports car not a race car and at 54 years old these frames can’t take it without reinforcements welded on. 300+ horses is good enough for the cruising I do. If I want to go fast I’ll drive my supercharged 392 dodge charger ☺️ baby is a monster.

As we know, vettes are fiberglass. If the core support and frame are good, only surface rust, then things like wipers, horn, brakes, fuel and brake lines can be fixed without breaking the bank. Seems like the motor is OK, no blue smoke and the trans shifted nice, probably got some life left in the clutch too. The cars are priced decent as long they aren't purposely hiding major problems.

Car looks great. But do you put an automatic transmission in neutral when you take your foot off the gas? Why on a stick shift you put in neutral? Too many things not working.

Better on the clutch to pop it in neutral as you roll up to a red light, not good on the throwout bearing to sit with the clutch depressed any longer than necessary.

Do the gauges in any of these cars work? Seems like a broken record. There's a switch on the bottom of the dash that raises the cowl, which allows the wipers to move. I have a 68.
