I can't believe it made it through the years without everyone modding this car out, this won't last long at all, it's very factory,even the paint someone really respected this car to be factory you don't see them like this anymore 👍 Nick sweet ride 🔥

I mean to each his own. But I think I would pass out if I saw somebody buy the car, then a week later,its purple, little go - cart tires and wheels, black& white zebra interior, 9 inch gold chain link sterring wheel , and bouncing up and down like its possessed👹, my heart couldn't take it! 💔💀😩😫😩

I was trying to see what the script on the hood was. All I could read was "overhead cam", this might have been a Sprint OHC-6 car from the factory.

@@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism I thought the 68 firebird had a 400? I thought the 455 came in 1970? 🤔

Beautiful car!! I usually don't like green. But the black interior makes it work. Great video Nick.
@junkyard-p1s2 жыл бұрын
You would like the green way better if you seen it in person. To me its almost like a metallic. I had a 68 Mustang that was a similar green ,it was cool looking.(Steve McQueen Bullit) I agree about the black interior. If it was tan color instead of black, 🗣🗯🤣🤦♂️👍

It's a sharp little car & a favorite in my book . I've never been impressed with the 400's in any make but it does sound pretty good I've found 400's were somewhat sluggish like the 326 Pontiac. The car is well worth the asking price .
@junkyard-p1s2 жыл бұрын
My friend had the same exact car backn in the late 70's. I loved that car. I'm so glad whoever owned this one ,left the stock steering wheel on. Custom ones are too common and a dime a dozen. I myself prefer the more stock and original the better! Hate it when someone butchers a dashboard on a classic car with few in existence ,and puts in a fancy Bluetooth radio. Thats like a punch in the gut.🤦♂️Just my opinion.

Nice car, had one same color back in the day. Pretty honest about condition flaws but still a nice car. Having had one I noticed while hood up it was missing air dams between radiator and front bumpers. That told me it was originally a 6cyl car. Then I saw the hood OHC. Pontiacs put out a whole lot of torque that will tear apart the whole unibody of the car as it did mine. Car body hasn't seen much abuse at all. Minimal restoration and add air dams for city driving and this cars a keeper 👍

@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism2 жыл бұрын
Yeah but remember inflation. Could you even restore one yourself for this $? You'd have to buy a donor, weld up any rust, strip it all down and paint everything, clean every good part, repair and fix countless items. Your talking thousands of hours of work you know, right? How could you make anything?
@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism2 жыл бұрын
I'm restoring a classic car myself right now. A '68 t-bird. There is no way in hell I could every get my money back from the car. Let alone even make min wage after all the hours in body work and paint, let alone all the other stripping down of all the other parts. It's looking bad ass! But I'd lose my ass now. I don't ever plan to sell it, that's why I'm doing it. Self value. I bet whoever restored this, lost also. You have to do it for the fun of the project, not the money, that's for sure. What a super fun hobby though!

I consider most of these Maple Motors cars donors. I’m building a Chevelle now and the biggest problem is finding parts that are not on back order. Yes I have way too much $ in it but hard to put a price on enjoyment.

Love the older birds, 67, 68, 69 are my favorite ones. But alas, I'm a vette freak. Got 3 of em, had 5, but sold two recently. Sold my 70 big block convertible, and my LT-1 convertible 72. I'm building a 81 I found under a tree at a chicken farm. Only 68000 miles on it, but a ruff 68000. Wish I could get that 73 rag top red one you got nick, but alittle bit to much for me. But a nice firebird tho.

Oh. So the firebird got the gills in the rear quarter panel a year earlier than the camaro. I was just looking up difference again (cus i always forget lol) of the first gen camaro's and was checking our some firebirds too but I missed the fact that firebirds got their gills in '68 and camaros wouldn't get them until '69. What a nice, no doubt, fully restored firebird! Holy smokes. I'm surprised you can get these fully restored for 30k. I wonder would it cost to restore one? Seems hard to believe anyone could make any money that's for sure. Glad people are doing it to keep 'em alive though.
@hellofromrob2 жыл бұрын
The ‘67 Firebird had the same gills of course. The exterior changes from ‘67 to ‘68 in the Firebird were subtle and many people miss seeing them (primarily the change to wraparound front parking lights, addition of rear quarter parking lights and lack of driver/passenger wing windows). I recently bought a clock with a ‘67 on the face, although it was listed by the seller as a ‘68. I gave him a little welcomed education, but I love the clock since I owned a ‘67. Now 50 years after selling it, I’m looking to buy another!
@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism2 жыл бұрын
@@hellofromrob Oh, yeah, googling some images, it looks like the firebird was born with the gills, right off the bat in '67. Not sure how I missed that. Thanks.
