THIS is what I'm talking about!! Back in '76, I was 16 and owned a '69 Chevelle Malibu SS 396, green w/vinyl top, bucket seats w/ center console/shifter, and TH400 auto trans! Sold it when I joined the Navy, missed out on purchase of a '70 SS Nova, brn, w/4-spd... nearly broke my heart!! Looks like your engine has an Edelbrock intake, can't see carb, my car had stock intake w/800 Holley.... was gonna do Hedmann headers and an Isky cam, but enlisted and sold car first. BEAUTIFUL car, the ONLY other car I would've rather had would've been a '69 GTO w/4spd.... ohhhh, this brings back memories of the good 'ol days!! MAN!!! Listen to the sound of that idle!!! Congrats to whoever bought her!!! This is from back in time when guys were guys, cars were CARS, and speed-limits were a mere SUGGESTION!!! Keep on ROCKIN' that GM MUSCLE!!!!!

I showed my wife this video. I met her in 1972. I owned a 1969 GTO Judge at the time. I was a little shocked that this little tiny blonde that weighed 90 pounds was driving this thing. She owned a 1970 SS Nova identical to this in the maroon and black. Hers was a 350 with 3 speed floor shift. Which I always hated and planned to put a Muncie or Saginaw 4 speed. I need to buy this thing. Except I am starting a new company. In a year I need to look the new owner up and see if he will part with it. Great video, great car, great memories. Thanks.

Really crazy to see that gas tank behind the license plate again and the instrument was pretty much the same as this Nova.. Pretty nice. You should have seen the 1969 that I built in college back in the 80's .. 700+ HP .. it could do wheel stands at least 12" high .. candy-apple red custom paint, crushed velvet interior, all MSD ignition, custom headers, custom race cam, custom intake dual quad double pump carbs with mechanical secondary's (synchronized), 4-speed Muncie Rock Crusher transmission, 12-bolt posi-traction rearend (nothing but motor under the hood .. no heat, no A/C, just motor). Just like this one, the spedo never worked .. LOL .. Man, it was sweet! Sold it to my neighbor who drag raced it at the strip for the next several years. It was a muscle car among muscle cars. Few people attempted to race me on the street, and those who did lost. It would have beat the crap out of this one.

He noticed that one of his team(me)was in Autoshop class and asked if I would do routine maintenance on his ride? At 15, I had no license and 3rd period shop class (right before lunch hour) daily The keys were on his desk each day and leave school, grab my friends rip up the roads the whole semester ... until the vice principal met up with me at an intersection (in his ‘72 Capri) They shut that down that very day!

So what's wrong with a wooden steering wheel? They are usually larger (thicker) and easier to hold on to than the tiny factory wheels. After I put larger wood grips on my Super Blackhawk I found it easier to deal with the recoil of the .44 Magnum. The only other solution (besides a larger wooden wheel) is a soft lace on cover, which does not look as good.
