Had an 85 as, black cherry. Took out 305, put in GM crate 359 built 370 hp. Was really good car. Traded it in 2004. Guy bought it for his son and took it away in 2 weeks. Said his kid couldn't handle it! Dealer had failed to give him paperwork on the motor. Love Maple Motors.

My wife has owned 3 Monte Carlos .. 1976 with 401 engine , a 1985 with 305, and a 1996 with V6 ..loved all 3 !

Very nice! With a 350 and true dual exhaust it's no surprise it's already sold. The MC SS and Olds 442 were always overshadowed by the Buick GN, but they are starting to get the recognition they deserve.

My wife and I had the exact mirror image of this SS when we dated. It was options delete except rubber floor mats. This is the first one I’ve seen optioned like that since ours.

This SS being an '85 w/shifter on the column, I'd imagine, this was originally an 5.0L 305ci. car from the factory and has since, been converted over to a 5.7L 350ci swap.. which is just fine! I had a maroon SS 350 w/shifter in the floor and it would chirp that 2nd. gear 85-90% of the time, not even be trying.. but, the 305s will do the exact same thing.. they can be bone stock and will chirp that 2nd gear 8/10x's and they ride just like a Cadillac.. this car seems like it has a great looking body, real clean looking SS the car most definitely, draws “eyes” but, I'm not sure, it'll being the asking price.. the fact that it's an '85 column shift car.. very nice ride, I'd like to have another one!

Had my 85 ss since 2010 bought wit 305 and 700r4 then swapped to 355 with 350tr stage two shift kit now 5.7 ls with 4l80e

Now this Monte Carlo is one clean car. Geez, the underside of it is just about spotless. Seems like this one is really worth the price being asked for it. The paint and body work is pretty darn good, and the color is very cool. Me likey! Purdy Darn Cool Car NICK !

Sorry that can be monte ss they did Come with bench seat even posi was a option. Most monte ss cam with buckets tho. On grand nationals and Hurst 442 cutlass was a option for limted slip posi

@@blackjeep6432 Actually, some people will buy a monte carlo ls (because they are cheaper than an ss) and put on an ss nose piece, rear spoiler, and decal and stripe kit, and try to pass it off as an ss. The only way to tell for sure is by the vin

@@rocky7522 this is an SS it has the correct vin an option codes for it. It was ordered without ac and with a bench seat it was originally black with the orange and red stripes performance suspension and 373 gears

easy way to tell if posi or not on that one is jack up the back end so both tires are off the ground and spin a tire..if both turn it is posi if not it isnt..

No A/C. What happened to it? I believe they all came with Air Conditioning. No Power Windows either and no center console. A deal breaker for someone like me. Paint and body doesn’t look bad. I still own 2 of these cars a ‘87 Black SS and ‘88 Gray LS as part of my car collection. The ‘88 LS is a 66k mile car I purchased Brand New.

You are correct. The Monte only came with a 305 from the factory. However a 350 is a cheap swap/upgrade.
