This Monte is in very nice condition!!! Worth every penny. I’m just curious why the column shifter? I thought that after’85, the SS’s were all floor shifters.

Ive got an 86 Elcamino, exactly the same dash except mine has a few cracks😪. Good ones are hard to find, at least it has been for me. I've got a fresh 305, we dropped it in back in July. Just finished with the brakes and suspension and starting on the cosmetics.

Incorrect, most of them had a floor shift console and buckets. There are fewer column shift and bench seat ones out there.

Back in the day when everyone had these and thought they were fast, I was like that little 305 is180 hp. The 5.0 stangs used to embarrass them.Your best bet is to do a swap with a 350 or 383 or bigger. Now that these g bodies are the rare to find I see a ton of them with crate motors etc.

Yes indeed beware the 302. Had a GT spank my 400 cubic inch Trans Am one night. Never could get that thing to run worth a crap. It was cool with the T Tops off though.

@@robjones8733 👍 Yup, the fox body GT's were definitely little pocket rockets but a good many of em were embarrassed by me in my 82 Malibu 4 door...little did they know it was an ex highway patrol cruiser that had a very potent 305 originally but the 350 that replaced it was a beast, of course I left the 305 badges on😁 . Was sure fun seeing their dropped jaws if they caught up to me at the next red light😎🤙

Bench seat cars came with column shift and bucket seat cars came with console and floor shift. I worked at a Chevrolet dealership in 85 as a painter when these came out. They were and still are gorgeous cars!!! Always my favorite
