I owned a 2005 Aero Pearl Blue Crossfire. Loved the car’s outer shell. Hated the interior: the silver center console is cheap, brittle plastic. The ONE cup holder is a joke and is usually the FIRST thing to break. The interior door handles can actually cut your hands. EXPENSIVE repairs because you’re dealing with a MERCEDES inside a Chrysler wrapper. Owned the car from 2009 to 2019. Knew as it aged, it would be expensive to maintain and repair. Traded it in for a 2013 low-Milage Camaro. Wise decision. Shop around. These cars are dirt cheap to buy. I provided a few reasons why.

@@ClassicCarAddicts you’ll just have to go in read information about it as as I have to learn to understand you could put a V8 with it. It fits as well. It’s heavily based on the R170 some things are from the AMG 32 most everything is from SLK 320. It has a dodge Viper rear differential just start learning more and understand and if you’re keeping this car or selling it, be easy on it with that six speed transmission.

How much does the transmission swap run? Always liked the SRT6 but wanted a manual transmission.

About 15k done right. Like anything, if you take it somewhere who doesn’t know what they are doing or try and do it yourself you can save some money but have more problems.

I'm glad you made the video but if you already call yourselves Classic Car Addicts you could have done your homework.. The last part of your description is 100% copied form the MotorWeek video on KZbin. Also, it's a blatant misrepresentation to state the car has 330hp and with the manual conversion it has over 350hp. The Mercedes SLK32 AMG, the vehicle this car shares it's engine with has 349 HP. It was state by Chrysler SRT engineers that the SRT6 came with the same performance (obvious as it is the same engine) but that Mercedes didn't want the Chrysler to have the same performance numbers on paper as it's Germany counterpart and for less $$. So the manual conversion has absolutely nothing to do with that. Oh and for the record....you say "most of these cars came with an automatic transmission"....ALL of the SRT6 came with an automatic transmission as AMG believed the torque was too much for a manual gearbox to handle. So this car had someone convert the gearbox to a stick shift or manual. As a buyer I'd take a closer look and ask some questions as to who did the conversion as it's not a simple undertaking. The Naturally Aspirate or Limited Crossfire was available with a manual gearbox. So my guess is the conversion came from that model but still, it's a dramatic difference and I'd want to make sure that was done correctly by whoever did this. Either way, beautiful car and good luck with the sale but I would have liked a more honest representation of this cool ride. And for the record...I own one of these and have been part of the Crossfire community for a long time. With less than $1,500 you could increase the HP to 430-440 and literally still beat many modern day cars. A true head turner with German engineering which is bullet proof.
@ClassicCarAddicts11 ай бұрын
Total disregard? Just sharing the history SRT6 and yes this one does have the manual swap from a Mercedes AMG and was tuned. That’s where the numbers came from. Sorry for your disappointment my man. It is an awesome ride.
@NevicNation11 ай бұрын
We did the electronic over at The Mercedes Swap Shop *The MSS* and they was done right, the clutch was weak point in the 6 speed. Also to make more then 430 hp you need more then 1500$ ... but hey it everyone opinion. As for the the gentlemen did the swap, he does this for a living.
