It would be much quieter than a muffler delay. And in California, you need to pass smog.

Sounds pretty good. I think I would have like the ending to kick out a bit closer to the side rather than under. I might just grab one for my 4Runner. I got a pretty loud exhaust on my F150 and it gets a little tiresome on long trips, this Magnaflow gives a nice rumble without being obnoxious.

just so you know not all Tanabe exhausts sound "Droney". I know that the one I have on my FD RX7 is very mild and actually fairly quiet. It's the Medallion model which has a 'muffler' included. By the way I purchased a '05 GX470 last year with rear bag susp delete, old man emu with 3" lift, American Racing wheels, otherwise bone stock and I enjoy your reviews, Thanks!

Yea I had a 06WRX with a Tanabe Medallion Touring exhaust. It had the most modest loudness level with the best tone if that makes any sense. Man I loved that thing. I got Dobinsons in order. Crazy how much parts are on backorder these days.

That for sure doesn’t sound like a v6, sounds nice tho..I got a 2021 sr5 premium last week and that’s one of the few things ima change on my 4runner the exhaust system..I already put a order for a Magnuson supercharger. So pretty excited how everything is going to sound and perform

I got part of the first batch. The fact that magnaflow was launching an overlanding series was super intriguing. Before I had just a stock exhaust.

Awesome content, new GX owner here. That Magnaflow sounds amazing and I already hit the notify button! Have you wrapped your wood grain or did it come like that? Considering wrapping mine to give it an update.

Thx! I have the sport model and it comes with aluminum trim and black burlwood instead of the lighter wood. Big reason why I chose it.

Hey John I have the tan wood in my gx. I wrapped it in a "brushed black aluminum" vinyl wrap. Steering wheel and shift knob are the only two things that are hard to wrap. You can get a new 4th gen 4runner wheel (all black leather) or the black burlwood if you can find one. Hello, have you noticed the muffler getting any louder since it was installed? Heard they change a little during their initial break-in after a few hundred miles.

I can’t really tell any difference but it’s totally subjective. I could’ve just gotten used to it. All I know is that I smile when it starts up every time. :)

These magnaflow mufflers do get louder over time. They’re other KZbin videos that shows this. Has this happened for you? How many miles have you put on it since the install. It sounds nice in the cabin👍

I think it’s gotten a little louder at takeoff but I just drove 6 hours on a trip and there’s zero drone on the highway.
