Well I'm three years younger than you but I thought this was the coolest game my uncle would always being over when I was 3, and still think it's one of the best ever made at 22, 19 years later. He gave me the game when I turned 8 and it was a dream come true. Still have and play it.

I think it had to do with who owned the distribution rights for the UK/Asia releases. I don't think they had permission to use the Test Drive name in Europe. I could be wrong about that.
