Great choice if you go with a Tata Safari. The car has it all now. Its really feels luxurious. Scorpio N is a no comparison in terms of looks, design, feel, features.

Dear Manish and Pallavi…..Since I was on the same boat a few months ago I would like to share my two cents on this….The new Tata Safari can be an easy choice if you are looking for drives in and around cities….With many new features and improved stance the new Safari looks really stunning on the city roads….And on the other hand if you are looking for a mix of off road experience and good driving dynamics in the city then Scorpion-N is the natural choice….That being said if you have the option of Fortuner then go for it….No two thoughts about it all…. However if you are looking for a balanced vehicle that can do the best of all (including economy) then I would suggest Tata Safari to you…. I don’t own any Tata car so I wouldn’t be able to comment on the service experience but from what I have heard from my friends who own Tata cars they have never had a bad experience in 3-4 years of ownership…. Since you are a Mahindra fan Manish why didn’t you consider the XUV 700? It is AWD and has some really nifty features…..

If you want 4× 4 within 30 lac range then scorpio is the only practical option left. Advantages of N 1] Solid commanding view and drive 2) 4 × 4 option 3) Front and second row comfortable. Advantage of Safari: 1) superb looks and styling..getting out of this new safari will give more eyeballs..it's my personal option 2) plush with features and very comfortable across all rows 3) more practical in terms of space utilization/ charging points etc Unless you want to do hard core offloading FWD will do good in almost all road conditions as you are currently doing in xuv 500. I also own an xuv 500 since last 8 years and covered all kinds of terrains Am also looking out for a new vehicle and yes I also have identified these two vehicles only . If not urgent should wait for update in scorpio n somewhere around next year. Otherwise at this point of time Safari looks a better overall package

You may consider Hikux, the top model automatic will come around 35 on road due to heavy discount. A huge value for money if u like truck segment. I bought it 2 weeks ago and loving it over my Kia Seltos DCT GT line.

Whilst the Safari and Scorpio N are great cars you can also check the MG Hector plus. It gives good space inside and has a lot of features and overall is a good package. They usually do not have long waiting period. Worth a check. Big fan of your travels !!

I recommend you guys try the MG Hector and Hector+ as well. Both are sorted vehicles with capable diesel engines. No harm in trying them out. Not to forget, i love Manish's sense of humour. The man can take a joke upon himself. Cheers on your engrossing vlogs.

MG Hector Plus isn't worth it their are numerous issue even issue in the touch screen. The offer so much features that half of them fail even the car looks ugly. If not Safari then they should go for XUV700

The seats in a Toyota Fortuner fold to the sides, this becomes a challenge when you have a pet + luggage. The same reason we opted for a Skoda Kodiaq LK Edition, The last row seats completely fold flat.

A Fortuner costs 50+ Lakhs. For that money you can get a Safari/XUV 700/Scorpio N and a Thar. You'll have Highway cruiser and an off roader. By buying 2-3 cars for the price of a Fortuner, you will still not feel satisfied and something always feel incomplete. Buy a Fortuner, it can do everything you need from a car. It is very easy and inexpensive to maintain and it you will feel complete. Fortuner and Hilux are based on the same platform. Hilux is by far the best overlanding vehicle. It is the First car to reach North Pole It is the First car to reach South Pole It is the first car to be driven over an active volcano. They both have such a robust chassis that it really is indestructible. I agree the sheet metal on the Fortuner isn't as tough as the one on a Tata or a Mahindra but the chassis is really tough and can handle anything.

Hi Manish-Pallavi, Bro Fortuner is getting a LCI (facelift) by Oct 2024. Looking at your usage I would recommend you better stretch another year with your XUV5OO (that is still much much better than any current SUV by large, forget about the useless list of technical terms used by the OEM’s to befool public). I would strongly recommend Toyota Fortuner for Roving family (not couple anymore, Manvi has joined the family 😊) Pallavi, don’t rush to sell this XUV5OO…. You won’t get such space and such a rugged car in that price segment. You need to spend minimum 4M INR to get a capable car. Note - Manish, pls check for these 2-3 features in your new car. 4WD with differential lock, hill hold assist, hill descent control and climate control seats - ventilation I meant. One last suggestion (if you guys ever consider a pre owned car - I know, it will be a Big NO but still in case. Visit JLR dealerships and look for a Discovery sports 2018 or 2019 model. You will get it for around 35-36L with 1 yrs warranty and good service support from JLR network. This is far better option than going for Safari or ScorpioN. Do check in bro - this is a better option, use this Discovery for good 3 yrs and then move on to New Defender. You may Thank me later

According to your needs, the best option would be 4×4, then AwD then rear wheel drive. Front wheel drive should come at last. So better buy scorpio N, z8l 4 X 4 automatic or manual according to your choice. Many places the scorpio n 4×4 is readily available. So do enquire little bit more. If at all the safari would have come at least in AwD then it would have been a strong package according to your requirement. Happy hunting. 😊

In manual check the left leg will touch the plastic and not comfortable for short height person, automatic is smooth. I have harrier manual 2022 model driving is awesome powerful great confidence while overtaking only that left leg is conjusted while clutch travel. Mahindra 4X4 Scorpio N is a good choice. Go with that. Space can be managed. Don't go with a 2WD given the amount of driving you do. See some showroom near Bangalore or some place who can provide a 4x4 variant.

Just my two cents. If the priority is of comfort, space and practicality with best in class features I think there is no second thoughts. It is Safari. Please do mind that Scorpio N is a ladder on frame structure and there is much more body roll compared to any monocoque. Plus Scorpion N has some practical problems like cannot reach the water bottle at the door in the second row with doors closed. The rear wiper does not clean 180 degrees, the third row seat does not tumble down flat eating lot of space of luggage etc etc.Only reason you can think of Scorpio N is 4x4. Question is how often will you be needing 4x4. For most of the obstacles that we encounter can be covered by the terrain response modes of Safari. Good luck with your selection.

Go for the Mahindra Scorpio N 4WD. I have owned a Scorpio 4WD and never did it let me down, consequently I now have the Scorpio N 4WD. Having bought it in January 23 I have driven across Nepal from Gurgaon and several other places in the hill and plains. Remove or lift the rear seat and you are good to go. 4WD confidence and a good dealer network are the other plus points. Advice from a 67 year old, who also owns a 1942 Ford GPW Jeep which still runs !

If money no bar please go for fortuner 4×4.1 Toyota Reliability, Tata and Mahindra can never come close to it. 2 3rd row folding seats, Bicksee will be comfortable 3 4×4 and Ladder on Chassis this will come handy for few adventures trips. 4 This will probably be the last diesel you will buy, so the torque comes to the most when you are on highway

I know you have got lots of suggestions. My suggestion is go for Tata safari because my using Tata nexon for past 3.5 years didn’t face any issue yet. Service factors they’re improved a lot. Tata safari has 3 months waiting period my suggestion is to check with kht motors. They can arrange it sooner. For my nexon also they said 3 months waiting period then I said I need it before Bihu so then they deliver my car within 1 week.

I can give you an idea! Firstly also try the xuv 700 again! And search for which cars are available among scorpio N, xuv 700, tata safari and tata harrier! Tata safari and harrier are mostly simmilar just safari being the bigger sibling some things are better! But if safari is not available and harrier is... I thing you can go with harrier! Also another weird idea! Search for the availability of these cars in lucknow and Raebareli! If it is available there you can purchase the car there and get it registered in Bangalore! All the best!

Scorpion might be most affordable 4x4 under 30 lacs but it's not a family friendly vehicle for sure. Also, Scorpio N is not the same off-road capable as say a Thar, see DCV expedition videos. Safari can be only compared with XUV 700 which go head to head with each other in terms of functionality and practicality. 3rd row space safari aces while XUV scores on engine while transmission is a sort of tie. Having off-road capability is more or less a urban myth when 99% buyers are never going to use it so much. It's like sunroof, you use it once or twice during first year and that's it. Choose what scores best in terms of comfort. Service center is a hit or miss with any car brand, see TBHP threads. There is no perfect car out there, at least not yet in Indian market, it's what ticks most boxes. All the best on your purchase.
