So based on financial documents, it looks like we'll be seeeing TDU SC between October 1st 2023 and December 31 2023, assuming the game won't be delayed again. Pretty sure we'll get some heavy news this summer, not much longer until we hear things guys, are you excited?!

I would rather wait till a year from now if we have to to make sure we get a great game that can take TDU to the Next Level, Having Purchased and played TDU 1 and 2 when they originally released and the moded versions its still the driving game that has yet to be surpassed and I have played them all lol!

To be fair, many games have this type of announcement cycle, I mean ace combat I think was like 5 years loool, and countless other games too. Even the new Forza Motorsport too. Granted announcing it early was a strategic thing more than anything. Attach attention, investors, getting developer talent since everyone knows KT is working on it, etc

I am a huge fan of the test drive saga. My favorite being Test Drive Unlimited. If there’s one thing I am hoping for is that we get to buy houses and garages and get to invite our friends over to walk around and look at our cars and tour the house. Being able to walk around the dealerships and stores should be in this game. On a side note, I am glad they are taking their time with it and polishing it up. Less bugs the better. :)

@@TheAlexVII I think that's one of the reasons for it being delayed. They mentioned a hotel probably being the main residence. Then when we spoke saying we wanted houses it was delayed. I know it won't be the only reason but I reckon it was on of them.

I honestly believe this will be worth the wait. Knowing how much passion it seems the devs are putting into the game, they aren't going to rush it, they're going to make it a proper TDU. Lifestyle experience-esque. looking forward to its release!!

Yes dude! I’ve been saying that the cars in forza feel all exactly the same for years! I’m super tired of racing games falling for that standard trope. I miss test drive so so much! Everything about it from driving to the dealership and “test driving” the cars and rolling the windows up and down and having a cool garage that lets you arrange your collection and all that! I can’t wait for solar crown!

I've brought it up a few times recently, but after WRC Gen a late November - December release sits very poorly with me as it'll likely be after the holiday break when any major issues get fixed. I'd prefer them to release at the start of 2024 so all the devs are on deck and not about to go on holiday just after the game launches (obviously overall would still prefer 2023 but any later than October and it worries me based on how WRC Gen was handled). We have a lot to look forward to this year though 😁

I'm actually pretty hyped. I think it may become pretty good. The fact that they are learning from the mistakes of Forza Horizon is very promising. That game has zero progression in my opinion. I like games where you start with slow and crappy cars and have to work a little for the better stuff. But I don't want it to be grindy either, so I hope they find a happy medium.

I think this has the opportunity to be a massive game and the delays give me hope that they want to release something of quality. I think one thing the current game selections are stuffing up is that they try to aim to please everyone and those who love actual racing and driving games suffer as a result. I feel like there should be an option when starting the career to do a grind mode and a more arcade mode in terms of progression (not handling or physics) that way those who want to really push and grind their way to the best cars can do so for however long they want and those who want the faster instant gratification experience we see in most games can as well - be it with more prize money per race or whatever but make it so that those who are very casual players can enjoy it and those of us who like to really go all in can do so as well. To balance the grind mode out vs arcade mode just make it so there are additional cars, exclusive races like more endurance-like races, more houses, specific dealerships, a 'secret ending' etc by doing it on the harder setting. TDU and its array of content could do a lot with multiple difficulties and unlockable features. Games used to have the option to have easy but not complete or complete but a lot harder and I think it's a good way to bridge the gap between the casual and serious players.

The issue is it’s not fair for an online game to have progression split in that sense, especially since single player and multiplayer will be within the same account unlike NFS Unbound which has it separate. There is indeed a healthy medium of being not too Grindy, while also being hard. TDU was always about that though, so this isn’t anything new

@@TheAlexVII That is true, I will admit I am primarily a solo play person so I don't do much for the online side of things and never did any on the older TDU games, so it's not really something I think of. My thought with the varying difficulties and progression was kind of like having specific models of cars available only if you do the grind mode, like you can buy a variety of Ferraris in both types of difficulties but only specific super high end models are available for the grind mode, specific houses, particular items of clothing etc. Kinda like the incentive is there to play it on the harder mode as a 'badge of honour' but if you want to just chill and burn through the game you can as well without those items, if that makes sense. I guess my hope is that they keep the old TDU level of difficulty with the same sense of achievement they used to have and don't sell out to please the masses like a lot of the other new versions of classic titles do.

it has not been confirmed yet, however there is something called the Solar Hotel, basically a condo with multiple room styles. Other houses have not been confirmed yet

Because KT/Nacon doesn’t own the assets or rights to any previous TDU games, they’d have to make both islands from scratch which means I don’t think we’ll see either island return. Maybe in the 3rd instalment maybe lool. Good news, dealerships and Audi has been confirmed! So that’s one of your hopes ticked on the list!

Still, this game has me worries with AJ only talking about how sim or hardcore the driving will be, but not on the other end of the spectrum. As a casual driving game player I just wanted to see how can you pish the driving aids to be as friendly as possible for the casual crowd.. ;-;

In one of the quotes he said you’ll be able to tweak it to make it more sim like in the settings so it sounds like casuals will still be able to have fun :) although I think even in assetto corsa, casuals still have fun because despite it being pretty realistic, it’s very rewarding and fun!

As a fan since playing TD on DOS then every TD game that followed im super hyped. I can even excuse small imperfections as i just love the franchise. Only part im not sure about is their choice of map location. I find it a little left wing and confused why they didnt just go with a more western location. Even New Zealand would have made for a decent island. They could have just gone with a state in the US leaving potential to add more state later on to expand over time. Anyway can't wait

i hope this game does everything the last ones did and more. these cookie cutter open world driving games have become so fucking bland. forza with all the money keeps giving us lazy ass horizons and im over it. the crew could have been so much more but at least the map is big as hell. this genre needs a much needed push in the right direction so hats off to the team and good luck to them

The Lexus LFA. A car we all love and appreciate but we all know how much of a financial flop it is CAUSE IT TOOK TOO LONG TO GET TO THE MARKET. I fear the same will happen to TDU:SC. The game will be great to play, but commercially? A flop. It's taken too long. The hype has gone. Only TDU fans are waiting for the release, everyone else has moved on.

The thing is the hype is I’ll always be there when launch comes, no matter what, people will still tune in when they show gameplay and when the game comes out, it takes time to make a game, a good game at that. I don’t think tdu will flop commercially at all, because no matter what, people will always come back

I can tell you, I think Solar Crown will be cancelled. Still no major info about cars, carrer line, activities, map etc NOTHING just a few shots. This is too big project for devs like Kylotonn. Look at their games: WRC series, V-Rally or Tourist Trophy Isle of Man - only just medium quality crap. They can't create a good simple projects and you think they can handle a massive open world game? No way man. These official shots already presents poor quality, now this level of graphics is outdated and we still must wait for release - how long? a half year? maybe more than one? This game engine from WRC series feels cheap, is not optimized, can't handle decent framerate on straight track with one car and few trees... maybe between realeases there is a progression but compare to worldwide standards? ... another galaxy. Let's face it - Forza just ate all and will do in the future. M$ has almost unlimited founds to keeps these kind of projects on top - it's a system seller and drivetrain for game pass. Nobody can compare to them and just like others - Solar Crown will be a second league project too.
