I had a “64” Impala SS, 283, 2 barrel, with a slip-N-slide power glide trans. Leave it in 1st and mash the skinny peddle 65-68 mph top speed redline. Back in 1972 it was a blast!

Drinkers side sway bar needs extended about 4" which keeps the frontend level in the corners. Then put those 10" wide tires on the drinkers side also. Automatic gain of 2 seconds per lap. Powerglides rock. 65 Chevelle with a DZ 302 w powerglide. Never had to shift racing stop light to stop light. 302 would rev 8500 rpm. Powerglides never break.

I loved that monte carlo when it one only spin one wheel. Faded black. Before the supercharger. That 400 hundred small block had the cherries from the get go.

Put 'er in 1st gear (low in a PwrGlide) and send her .... packing. a true dirt tracker 1964 Bel Air U.S.A. Made by Chevrolet. Nothin' but the best back in those days.the True Stock car days. GM Ruled the Roost.

My first car was a maroon 63 chevy dr biscayne, 327ci, 4 spd, posi. Loved it. Would love to see you rescue one. I had to sell it when I went into the navy for the Vietnam war.

I had a 1964 Belair 2 door. It was a $50 car. I couldn't afford to keep my insurance so my buddy and I put on motorcycle helmets, took it to the woods and floored it until I hit a tree. I still have a scar from that one. I may have been drunk at the time.
