Test it and take it home Part I

After getting a new used Motor installed in 96V I flew up to Kentucky from Orlando to bring 96V home. We spent the first day test flying the new motor, and then it was time to bring her home. This vide shows some test flights and the first leg of the flight to KRHP. I love this 170...

Cool channel. I found you on Cory Robin's page notes. Thanks for sharing and good to see some new content that I don't know of on the KZbin's. I'm learning about the kit builds side myself. Almost at my private pilot checkride after 20yrs of getting out of aviation. So cool to see all of the channels out there.

Looks great, Warren! I stopped at RHP back in December of last year in my 170 flying my wife down to Dallas for her MBA graduation. Neat little airport.

Ryan Smith thanks Ryan! RHP was neat, and nice people too. I loved coming over the mountain ridge and dropping a couple thousand feet to get to pattern altitude. Sounds like you went on quite the trip!

Love your videos, learned to fly years ago in a J3, PA12 and a C140 in rural Alabama, went on to fly for some 22 years for the USMC and your vids bring back a lot of old memory's. Live in the Philippines now and have a five year old son that wants to be a pilot...he loves your videos also...thanks. BTW did you consider upgrading to a IO360 when you got a new motor?

Ah man that is just great to hear! Thanks for reaching out and for the kind words. But most importantly, thanks for your service. I hope the Philippines is treating you well. I absolutely did think about an IO360, or an O360 as well. But decided against it as this isn’t my long term plane. If it was “B” model I would have done it. But can’t see investing that much time and money into a “ragwing”. Have a good weekend!

Great video! What do you usually get for a cruise speed? See lile you get a good 95-100kts! Looking at he ASI .

Thanks dean. Yep. Around 90kts right now. Before I put the “climb prop” on it, I would cruise 100kts.
