Even one year later this was very interresting again. Last week I need to cut a bigger sheet of acrylic glas 2mm. I tried to use my woodworking machines on it: Fine blade for cutting (works perfekt), band sander (works but some melting edges, needs some training), router with highspeed for rounding edges, drilling machine with metall drill and counter sink (low speed, perfekt).

Very good video! Practice beats theory... I have this KGS80 and now I know more about it's plastic capabilities. Thankyou.

Excellent! This little saw is amazing, now I want to have one. I think some plastics, maybe the softer ones, need lower revs for a better finish.

Possibly. I have heard that the softer the plastic the coarser the blade needs to be to clear chips and reduce heat build up. Sharpness is key as well, I do know that sharp endmills leave a nice finish in UHMW and it cuts like butter.

This thing does a good job on everything I’ve tried to cut on it! Cons? The 90 degree detent is ridiculously inaccurate, and I block the toggle lever open so I can lock it down at a true 90, 45, whatever. And the blade guard is terrible! A pain to accurately cut to a line because you nearly have to stand on your head to see it!

Sucks. Mine seems ok at 90. I usually keep the blade guard screw out so I can lift the guard for a better view.

hmmmmm I am looking for some kind of small chop saw to cut some 1 inch chrome plated stainless steel tube. What do you recommend? The Proxxon KGS80 is the right size, but does not cut straight enough. Does the M12 bandsaw come with a chop saw adapter?
