Test Ride: DRZ400

Hey ! I made this quick video of a little test ride I did on my friend's modified DRZ 400.
it was a lot of fun getting back on a dirtbike and a big change from the Africa Twin haha I hope you liked it.

That looked SO fun man. NB trails are the best. I always think about how much fun a lighter KLX 300 would be on stuff like this, but I'd take the KLR through that stuff all day. Bring on Summer.

Hey buddy cool little video. I'm surprised how green your forests are already. Starting to get pretty green here in Southern Pennsylvania, we've had a lot of cold days this spring. Only a few warm days. I have an old dirtbike 93 kawasaki kx250. Haven't been able to ride it for a couple years, but my friends have been bugging me to ride with them so I got some new tires and I'm gonna put clutch plates in then see if I can still ride that big beast. Lol You gotta wheely through those puddles so you don't get splashed buddy. Lol Take care and I'm looking forward to the next video. Cheers 🍻

IMO the DRZ400S may be the best overall bike there is. It's a bike that will do a little bit of everything relatively well, as it comes right out of the crate. It's a very reliable bike, and it has remained unchanged for many years. There are tons of aftermarket parts made for them, and finding used parts is easy as well. If you're not too sure what type of dirt bike riding you will mostly enjoy, the DRZ400 is good, because you can use it to try just about all types of riding there is on a dirt bike, then you can make necessary changes along the way in order to best suit your riding style. In many instances, people will be able to fine tune this bike to be sufficient for their needs. But if you decide this bike just isn't going to cut it for you, selling it will not be a problem, as there are always people looking for them used, and you shouldn't have much of an issue getting most of your money back out of it, resale value on them is good.

Man, I think the DRZ400 would be a great all-around trail/dirt bike for an older guy like me to ride miles of forest roads and desert trails. Looked like it would be fun to have for daytrips to explore from base camp. I'm sure it could be ridden faster (more as a dirt bike) but it seemed really capable to leisurely cruise along trails without much drama. I could tell in your voice how much you really liked it, too. Maybe see it more often soon?! Peace! Pete - KI7LIL

Yeh Just love the DRZ400. Do you canadians say driving a dirt bike?, we say riding. If there is roundish rocks around reset your front tyre pressure.

haha Not my machine and it was my first time riding it. But yeah you're right, when I rode it, it felt like I was going faster but once I edited it, it seemed slow lol
