I wish the US would wise up and build high speed rails. I visited Taiwan last year and rode the HSR from Taoyuang to Taichung several times and loved it.

@pinkenba55 "High speed train" counts as one going 90 mph+. Our Acela can go 150 in spots so we have a high speed rail. Might I ask what you meant by making you laugh or cry? lol
@RealRaynedance15 жыл бұрын
I never said that it was put into service. But California did have a maglev.

Industrious people of Taiwan made this railroad successful. Congratulations, Taiwan. It is only Japan and Taiwan that can operate a bullet train safely in an Asia.

@idiotman76 Yes, the fastest HSR in a country with 300 mio people ;) And it's pretty expensive compared to European and Asian trains.

having this in the US would be great. wouldn't have to get that sore ass feeling from sitting in a car for 6 hours. at least you'd be able to get up and do... train stuff haha. better than airplanes too

Wrong. Fastest we have in service at the moment. I think I read that California has a maglev. Not in service, but made. That would be the fastest.

@dhksrksalem Well I apologize for that comment i was just feeling angry over the 楊淑君 incidence at the time...
we can't develop high speed trains because our tracks are the oldest and subsequently most worn tracks in the world, and they wouldn't be able to take high speed trains. would cost a phenomenal amount of money to re-lay all the tracks in britain and because we only have our own taxes to pay for things now, rather than an empire to supplement it, we can't do anything.

Join the real world......US also does not have any high speed rail system which does not make you laugh or cry. Guess they like their cars too much....the Brits like their buses too much and have been well served by the bus companies until now....In Asia buses are craps and cars...they belch out too much smogs...and smokes....We are also crazy drivers too(so are the Yanks come to think of it)...
