Let's see what it is like driving in Taipei, the capital of Taiwan. Busy streets and lots of bridges.

This year October, my girlfriend and I went to trip to Taiwan for 6 days and this was the first time that I ever travel abroad. First thing I notice about Taiwan is that there are many scooters around and there is special space for scooters at the very front of lanes for traffic stops, personally a nice point. Also, I don't really recall but never seen a single scooter ignoring red light at the street. (people there seem to follow rules well. For example, people there do not drink even water! in public transportation and wait in line wherever it is needed.) Also, I personally love the old looking building facade. I live in Korea and unlike Korea I noticed that most of the Taiwan buildings look old showing the years of time passing by. I saw plants growing in the wall crack, paint fading of the exterior wall, and so on. Love every bit of evidence showing years and years of time passed when I was not there. Also I felt that people there are very nice. This is just my subjective feeling and I am not sure whether I felt this because I was mostly around famous traveling sites but I just love their lives. I loved so many people enjoying their night at Shilin night market I loved the energetic vibrant feeling at Ximending Station I loved open wide field and beautiful scenery with Taipei 101 at National Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall I loved my first ever naked Volando Urai spa lol I loved electric motor biking at Fulong (

For anyone considering a visit , I strongly reccomend it. It's a beautiful city and quite inexpensive, there's so much to do and the public transport and walkability is effective for all parts of the inner city. I didn't speak mandarin (aside from a few basic words) but I was able to find people that spoke English around many places, and the people were friendly and helpful. Delicious streetfood everywhere that was very cheap and a great atmosphere in all the little sidestreets. Just great. Next time I visit I want to speak the language so that I can talk with more locals than just young people :)

I love Taipei, it is a city with very good vibes. People are friendly, and I believe Taiwanese have built a great society with a very good sense of community. We went to a big food court and while eating a Taiwanese man asked if he could use the next seat. We said sure and we started a conversation with him. We found a friend and this is how friendly and sociable people in Taipei are.

27:10 that pink Bus scared the crap out of me because of the speed it was coming and it was indicating to turn left on that intersection but kept going straight. If I was driving I would have took off and probably would got into an accident with that bus. I didn't know traffic in Taipei is so freestyle and you have to be on alert constantly. Love this city it's certainly something different to what I am used to. Keep up the great videos!!

This is the best driving in Taiwan too. Once you get outside Taipei it is a total free for all. Young guys in Mercedes’ and BMWs going through red lights, and pedestrians, old people and little girls on scooters going wherever they want! xD
Aside from the language on public signs, this could very well have been Toronto, especially when on the highway! Wow! They sure do like BMWs in Taiwan!

The road signs and lane markings are almost identical to North American conventions. The biggest difference is the scooters everywhere. Otherwise, you could easily drive in Taiwan if you are Canadian/American

*_John 3.16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. 20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. 21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.”_* _Jesus Christ loves you. 唐老大 Qing only controlled coastal area of Taiwan, which is only half of the island. Taiwan was loosely controlled by Qing and traveling from China to Taiwan was banned or restricted until mid 1800s. Qing tried to develop Taiwan after Sino-French War ended, but lost Taiwan to Japan before Qing could do anything extraordinary. The whole island of Taiwan was actually first conquered and developed by the Japanese by modern standards. Taipei’s major streets and road in the city center were built or planned by the Japanese.
