Mercurial can also come from element Mercury, its pretty susceptible to heat ,like with minor change of temp , it changes its volume. That's why it's used in thermometers. This could be said for a person's mood. I love you Greg.

If it helps anyone, when I see 'mercurial,' I think of Deadpool and how his mood and personality is always unstable and unpredictable. It also helps that he is known to be a mercenary so both mercurial and mercenary have the 'merc-' in common.

If you play League of Legends you'll never forget what mercurial means. The item Mercurial Scimitar (builds from Quicksilver Sash) instantly removed all crowd control effects on you. So, your crowd control status is mercurial i.e. subject to sudden changes.

If I recognize a trap answer and don't fall for it, I always let out a "F you Greg" while I'm grading myself. It makes me feel good that I'm getting better at these.

You can remember plaintively by the word plaintiff. A plaintiff is a person who brings a case against another and he/she does it because he/she is SAD with other person
nice point for tangential to memorize. Loved this series, I thought another series could be usual GRE pair words for SE questions

As a Portuguese, I feel like there are so many words that just come naturally, as we use them in our language often e.g. ire, benevolent, affront, etc. Just have to watch out for the false friends :)

GRE questions are not like that. They rather rely on context. These sentences are decontextualized. They can’t be in the GRE!

These questions just test vocabulary that would appear on the GRE. They’re not actual questions that would appear on a GRE.
@williamwallace40803 жыл бұрын
The point is that, if you know the word without context, it's much easier during the exam where they give you context.
