I think it is about time you bring the Fortuner so we can realy test those sidewalls. Good video Henk.

Hi Henk, Is it still fit if I am getting the bfgoodrich 265/65/r18 on a stock fortuner? Or should I keep the 265/60/r18? Thanks a lot
@4WheelingSA2 жыл бұрын
According to me it should be fine. The fitment centre should be able to double check. They can make some changes on the wheel alignment.

Hi Henk...can you advise what's the best tyre pressure in summer for Fortuner having BF Goodrich K02 265/60R18 for city driving ?
@4WheelingSA2 жыл бұрын
I would recommend at least 2.4 bar. Daily driving for me I have them at 2.5 bar.
@mustuattarwala2 жыл бұрын
@@4WheelingSA The Fortuner company advises 29 psi in cold tyre in all four. That's written at the door. Do you think I should try 35ps (=2.4 bar)?
@4WheelingSA2 жыл бұрын
@@mustuattarwala Yes, I have actually looked at it yesterday. I have always had my pressure on 2.4/2.5 bar. Especially for the BFG I will recommend it to protect the tyres.

Hi Henk, Thank you for the review, I’m actually considering getting the BFs for my Legend 50, I hear a lot of people complaining about noise on the tyres, how did you find that? Also how’s the fuel consumption now?
@4WheelingSA2 жыл бұрын
Hi Trevor. Thanks for watching. I cannot complain about the noise at all. Maybe a little bit more, but not a nuisance for me. With the larger diamter I lost around 1km per liter, but the speedo is more accurate now.

Hi Henk, Great vid. Three questions....firstly, what is your bull bar again ? Make ? Secondly, all things being equal (i.e. money no object) would you you have gone to 17" wheels and 265/65 ? Lastly, how have you found the OME suspension uplift ? I ask as I'm thinking of getting a Fortuner myself as a back-up vehicle as soon as my 105 build is complete. Thanks ! Alan
@4WheelingSA2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alan. It is the Wildog K9 bar (I see you did watch the video 🙂). If money was not a question I would have gone for 17" mags, but with money part of it it would have doubled the cost. 17" is better, have I ever had a case where I could not do something where I felt I really needed 17" ? NO (but I still feel that 17" is offcourse better). I am very satisfied with the OEM suspension (have a look at the short video I have recently added). With the 105 in your garage you already will have a very capable vehicle, therefore there might not really be a need to change to 17" btw... Hope this help. Thanks for watching. Regards,

What is the ply of bf goodrich ko2? Thanks
@4WheelingSA2 жыл бұрын
It is a 3 ply tyre
@lionridds Жыл бұрын
@@4WheelingSA Correction...Your tyre is marked C on the load rating, if I spotted it quickly in the video, which means it's 6 ply. KO2's are 6 ply standard. They are now also 10 ply (E load rating)😊
@4WheelingSA Жыл бұрын
@@lionridds Thank you. The 3 ply will be for the side walls. The 6 and 10 will be for the tread area. It also seems as if there is a bit of a difference between tyres coming from the US and Thailand. I am currently working on the 30,000 km review.

Hi Henk, nice review. Planning to get the same tires as well. Are you using stock suspension on your Fortuner? I'm on stock suspension and I am concerned if there will be rubbing issues if car is sitting on stock suspension. Thanks
@4WheelingSA3 жыл бұрын
Hi Vernon. I have OME installed since new. So I am not sure. Best would perhaps be to ask the fitment centre to assist. I know for the Hilux they do have to fit spacers. I think you might be ok, but the best will be to double check.

Hi Henk thanks for the great review. Do you happen to know what the width is of your rim? I have a 18"x7 rim and am wondering if I would be able to run the 265 65's on it?
@4WheelingSA3 жыл бұрын
Hi Edward. Thanks for watching! I am not 100% sure. I do have the standard rim the vehicle came out with if that helps?
@eddwaddington3 жыл бұрын
Hi Henk thanks for getting back to me. It all depends on year model. Some of the fortuners are 7 and some are 7.5. Tyres are quite a challenge for 18 inch especially for going offroad
@4WheelingSA3 жыл бұрын
@@eddwaddington I have a 2018 model. If you have stock Toyota rims I believe you should be able to fit 265/70/R17 or 265/65/R18. For aftermarket rims if it goes out it (wider stance) should be fine I believe. Just check for rubbing when turning.

Well, yes an no. Looking at pricing for my tyre size they are pretty much the same. Also important to understand these tyres as well. Remember that this is a heavy duty tyre. Obviously there are other option available yes, but best is to pick on what works for you. I can only share my experience with these and up to now I have not had any problems (touch wood) including driving on gravel and wet tar roads (keep an eye open for the video on tar road driving coming out on Sunday).
