I am just blown away by the quality, clear scientific comparison, and clarity of this channel. I don't even do saltwater, just freshwater, but I still consider this borderline-essential viewing, especially your algae refugium series!

I Just made my first BRS order yesterday, got myself a ATO and new tank heater, was kinda bummed though because the Mr. Chili chef plushie was out of stock lol Today I went to my local fish store “Fish Gallery” in Dallas Tx. I bought a new reef suitable led light, my first ever coral! along with some test kits and a couple other items. I’m super excited to start my reefing hobby and am thankful you guys made this video to help me find out how to use my lighting to the best of my abilities & to really help make my new coral pop!

Hey Ryan. So I was surprised to see the royal blues be turned down and the red and greens turned up when you did this video. I've had my lights adjusted based on the AB+ that you guys used in previous test but a bit more on the whiter side for what 'looks like' a more balanced spectrum. With that said I've been investigating lighting alot lately and in your video you should the thick balanced band of natural sunlight. So after you showed the adjustments you made on the LEDS to try and Mimic that I was willing to give it a try. I for the most part used the same settings with just a little more tweeking on a few channels and using the spectrum graph on the myAI app to follow your lead. The next day I saw NOTICEABLE differences with basically all of the corals. Mushrooms had almost doubled in size and now a week later I can say that day by day the corals have looked better and better with fullness and color increase. The fun fact is that I used your ratios but kept my wattage consumption the same. Not knowing if higher energy wave lengths produce more par at the same wattage consumption, I wanted to assume my par was remaining the same yet only changing the spectrum. Maybe you can answer the question if 50 watts of royal blue produces the same par as 50 watts of green

Great video. Covers some of the topics we've been internationally validating over tanks for almost three years. But instead of buying new or more lights or playing with sliders (slide and pray) why not just upgrade their pucks and achieve that plug-and-play simplicity of T5s but with a modern twist? We've got you covered with our upgrades for the AIs. Ultra-wide spectrometer-verified biology-band redefining blue spectrum and phat blues with a punch. #shamelessplug 😎

Surprised you didn’t show off green light florescence. There are reds and oranges that explode under green.

Is the colour pigments in corals, in the coral tissue itself or in the zooxanthellae algae that grows in the coral tissue... or both?
@BRStv2 жыл бұрын
Zooxanthellae is generally brown

Each coral is different and 380 UV may be more likely than violet . The challenge is that violet range is likely very beneficial biologically

Buy a Led, run all channel and intense at 90%. Dont change anything after that forever. Hang fixture above water surface 20 inch at first, decrese by the time such as metal halide fixture and every coral will growth much.
