Most of the POWERADD links go to a power bank called HETP Power Bank, 25800 mAh. Only £ 20, but also no USB-C, only micro USB. And one of them links to RAVPOWER.

This was very helpful, very well-explained. The biggest issue I've had with choosing a large capacity power bank is how long it takes to re-charge them. I've searched for months for explanation of how to overcome that big drawback. This video made it quite clear that it is the power bank's USB input that makes the difference. Clearly, that's the spec to look for (along with the watts). I now feel I have the information I need to make the best buy for my needs. Thank you!!

Which one did you decide with. I can’t decide which one to purchase. As I also want a power bank that doesn’t take to long to charge up.
@Gwen3344
@Gwen3344 3 жыл бұрын
@@xan9888 Hi Trey, I did not buy any of these. but only because I wanted the convenience of easy return if there was an issue. I bought a myCharge - Razor Xtreme at BestBuy; but have never used it--until now. In order to give some feedback, I decided to give the myCharge a try on my HP X360 Chromebook. The myCharge indicated 75 percent of capacity available. After less than 10 minutes charging, the capacity dropped to 25, and my Chromebook started making a hissing sound (which thankfully stopped shortly after I unplugged the power bank). So, needless to say, I don't recommend a myCharge - Razor Xtreme . (I travel on the road, and so have used my car 's accessory port and a BESTEK 300 Watt Pure Sine Wave Power Inverter to keep my devices charged.) Edit Dec 19, 2021: Since posting my original comment, I have successfully used the myCharge - Razor Xtreme. I don't know what explains what happened the first and only time I'd tried to use it. Maybe the length of time it had sat charged, but not used? The USB cable which was not the cable that came with the power bank?? Anyway, thought I should revise my previous negative review. Should also note that I've only used the myCharge only 2-3 times since. Opted for an Anker PowerCore III for daily use.

Don't run it all the way down if you're worried about length of time charging it up.
@Gwen3344
@Gwen3344 3 жыл бұрын
@@maxrshelltrack7443 Yep, I came to that conclusion, which is why I have opted for lower capacity power banks. For me, 6-8 hours of re-charging time to get 4 hours of charging capacity, didn't (doesn't) make sense. I have recently settled on the Anker PowerCore III; it recharges from 0 to full in 2.5 hours -- the time it takes to have a coffee at a coffee shop. I typically re-charge my chromebook when it is at the 60-70% discharged level. In other words, using the Anker to keep the chromebook topped. (I also have a Windows laptop & a Samsung tablet, but I don't use them as much).

I appreciate you review. You were very informative and articulate about the subject matter. You also made it very easy to follow along with what you were saying in the review. One thing I would have liked to have seen more of is graphics with the number stats, especially when it came to the battery banks performance when compared to advertised capacities. The reasoning being that the battery banks differed in their own advertised capacities. My suggestion would be to show your findings on a plotted chart that has price, capacity, discharge rate, heat dissipation, etc so that we can see it all. Thanks either way. I subbed. It's going to be awesome seeing you grow

Got myself the POWERADD 26800 PD this black friday week on amazon eu for 18€/22$ during sale with a coupon. Without your videos I would have never found this gem. Your channel is one of the only ones that helps with choosing the right powerbank. Without your channel I would have probably taken the Anker PowerCore + which is right now around 70€/84$ and would be overkill for my setup which only requires a maximum of 30W.

Weight doesn't matter much for a power bank in terms of capacity, yes weight matters when carrying it around but chinese manufacturers have been caught in the past putting weights inside the charger to make it feel heavier for the difference in missing capacity. If one is rated at like 20,000mah but feels super light that can be a dead giveaway but folks like to take these apart and weights are commonly used in generic power banks to hide any missing weight from the lower than advertised capacity. Good video btw, and thank you.

I find alot of these videos forget to talk about the most important part of any battery bank, car charger or wall charger, and that is the charging protocols they support. For instance, i have a Smasung Note 20 Ultra which supports quick charge, but also supports USB PD 3.0-PPS which is how samsung achives 25 watts of charging power with less heat generation. You can charge the Note 20 with any charger, but i have noticed if i use an inferior charger usually things start to get hot, such as the back of my phone, the cable ports and the inferior charger itself. This has led me to discover that charging it with either a quickcharge 3.0 or 4.0 charger (QC 4.0 Aso supports PPS i believe), or even better a type C PD 3.0 charger that supports the PPS protocol is always the better way to go. Now there are many different devices out there that use all kinds of protocols. USB - PD 3.0 is just ONE of them, and i found it a bit difficult to track down a 20000mAh battery bank which supported PPS, but im glad i took the time to do so because now i enjoy 3 charges from said battery bank at FULL SPEED 25 watts of PPS charging goodness. Always match the charging protocol of the device you are charging with whatever charger you go looking for and you will have far less problems. For reference here is some more about PPS: blog.ravpower.com/2021/02/pps-fast-charging/

I have 2 power banks. The brands are Phonesuit and Licorne. The Phonesuit came free when I purchased a drone. It's a bit older and doesn't have USB C. The Licorne I purchased from Amazon. It has USB C and solar charging. The Phonesuit is working as well as it did when I got it almost 2yrs ago. The Licorne is maybe 10 months old and has already suffered from degradation and only lasts about 70% of what it did when it was new. The solar charging was also disappointing as an entire day in direct sunlight resulted in less than a 10% increase.

I have the Ravpower and i like it. I chose it over the Anker because of the price and I already had a USB C charger. For me it really doesn’t matter if it takes 2 hours to recharge or 4 hours, I usually charge it overnight. I remember it heats up if kept in the bag while charging, but it wasn’t bad at all. Hi. Hoping you can answer a question. I recently bought a 30,000ma battery, thinking that it would charge my (approx) 10,000ma iPad about three times. Well, I tested it, with the iPad not being used, it only charged it 1.7 times. (Charged iPad from zero, then unplugged it, drained the iPad down to 1% and tested again) Seems to me that the product is not as advertised, but one product review said that battery math doesn’t work that way. 1.7 sounds low, right ?

That’s a good question. I have the RavPower one and I just tried to plug it in to a USB-C power source to start it charging, and then plugged a USB-A to lightning cable into it to charge my iPhone - it worked! PB Still charging and charging and so is my phone! I then tried charging the PB from MicroUSB and plugging my iPhone into it via the USB-C port - as soon as I plugged in the USB C cable the PB STOPPED charging (the iPhone continues to charge). So if you want pass-through charging you’ll have to charge the PB with the USB-C port, but then you should be doing that anyway. I also tried it pass-through charging my iPad pro with a USB-A to USB-C cable and that worked too. It will even pass-through charge the iPad pro AND my iPhone (XS) at the same time. I can’t speak for the other PBs but I know my older anker one wouldn’t pass-through charge, but that was a microUSB charge so not the same.

@@frodev728 I emailed RavPower and received a cryptic response. Seemed to suggest they did offer passthrough charging but since reply was hard to understand, I purchased a 26800ah PowerAdd and two 5000ah PowerAdd Slim 2s. The brick definitely offers passthrough charging and pleased with the product. I am less concerned about this ability with the Slim 2s. I've learned that if you unplug them from the USB charger and replug it in, the charge indicator on my phone continues to charge but not the other way around, so not sure if it is actually receiving a charge from the wall or if this is in fact a workaround.

i noticed you didnt give any details about how the powerbanks have one usb-A port (marked with the color blue) that does QuickCharge (2.0 or 3.0... from Qualcomm). That info is very relevant to alot of ppl since many Samsung phones uses that standard... and also something to note is: Anker and RavPower had models that were certified/licensed for QC... and then they both decided to save money and do a work around that activated QC but wasnt official. Also, while i was typing all this, i was listening & watchibg your vid. When you go back and forth pointing "this one does this but this one does this".... it would definitely help the viewers if you can mention which brand you're currently talking about... because they are all colored black...and after a few back and forth of you comparing all of them...its hard to figure out which one are you talking about. Maybe overlay the brand names underneath them? Overall... pretty informative but having the information visually shown, especially when youre talking about the specs would be great in the future! Thannks and keep up the good work!

Excellent detailed information, I have just ordered the Poweradd 30w USB PD charger before watching this video in the UK for £36.00 which in my opinion is excellent value, it is to charge my drone batteries with the charging hub that uses USB C PD of 29w input.

I just bought the Poweradd based on your review. I got it today and it doesn't charge. It says on the Amazon Web site that you can charge it faster using the micro USB port and the USB C port at the same time. I have the charger from my old Samsung S5 phone connected to the micro USB port, and the PD charger from my Samsung A71 connected to the USB C port, but the unit continues to just blink one dot. Sorry I bought it. Should have spent more money and got the Anker unit.
