I've got a 5.2 Stessl and whilst it has done a lot of work beyond its design, I absolutely hate the Rock and Roll, and Wave Slap on the sides plus in those days it claimed to have a super wide beam (yeh maybe at its widest point of the gunwales) - just as a maybe useless measure but even after oh so long of having this boat I hate the way Stessl measure from the widest point they can find when in fact given the sharp drop in angle from Side Decks to waterline is massive. In reality my 5.2 boat its quite a narrow at waterline and rocks and Rolls like George, plus the wave slap at rest would literally raise the dead a kilometre away and scare every fish off in between. I know know your new owners but sheesh I hope you develop a True Blue New Hull design with almost vertical sides and reverse chines of sorts... and a really good "waterline" width and length. Then flood it with liquid expanda type foam material rather than the broken up esky type foam I have - nothing like floating it upside down in a big sea with half a broken esky chunks to keep your 5.2 metre boat afloat (Quieter is better too).. Sorry to be a wet blanket but am looking to ditch this original Stessl I have and get something better in a shorter length even. I'm to the point of just giving away my old Stessl, Trailer and the lot. My Humble Opinion is that Alf wasn't as good at building boats as he made out in his day LOL.
