in case it wasn't clear, people are definitely overreacting about the levels of spoiler in this video. They'll be fine.
@Axis1175 күн бұрын
There are some pretty big spoilers I'd say. Especially around the 14:00-15:00 minute mark. I decided to not go any further if there weren't warnings for spoilers. That seems like information that's going to come way later in the season. I hope I'm wrong. But c'mon, be better.
@chaos.corner5 күн бұрын
@@DanWhiteT People have different tolerances for spoilers. I'm very spoiler tolerant to the point that I don't care if I hear major plot points (in fact, I'm thinking of reading the book series once this season is over) but I do try and respect others for spoilers and this is definitely what many would consider a spoiler that will affect their enjoyment of the show. Edit: I paused at the 14:00 mark to see if there were spoiler warnings and just resumed. Yeah, it gets real spoilery from there.

@@paulvamos7319 @SophiaAphrodite - Even if you don't have any interest in dystopian/sci-fi at all I'd encourage you to give Silo a try - it's really great! Based on a series of well loved books, and even the people who've read the books say they are happy with how it's being translated to the screen. My parents even really like it and they are in their 70s and NOT the sci-fi / dystopian fans like I am. As someone who is sometimes accidentally a bit hangry and toxic when giving feedback online about productions, products, designs, art, etc; the obvious passion these women have for their work - especially the smile of the one in purple - really makes me feel guilty about some of the ways i've shared feedback in the past. It's a gift to humanity when people find their passion project. Somehow just watching the way in which she presented herself has had an unexpectedly strong influence on me.

@DMLand5 күн бұрын
@@jaywhy3178 This is so true: Above-the-line types may be less likely to get into the nitty-gritty of the process, and may be more cautious about what they say. In part, this may be because "above the line" folks can have a financial stake in the success of the production. Above the line crew (producers, directors, principal cast) may get "points" (a percentage of the income it generates) calculated either before (valuable "gross points") or after (risky "net points") all expenses are deducted. "Net points" are sometimes called "monkey points" because they may deliver nothing if the film doesn't break even. But mainly, it's great to hear from the folks "in the trenches" bringing "the creatives'" ideas to life.
@ForeverDegenerate4 күн бұрын
@@DMLand Let's not forget that a large part of Adam's career was spent as a "below-the-line" worker in the Movie Industry. It actually makes sense that he'd be more keen to interview the people he would consider his peers rather than the people who told him what to do and, in some cases, made his job a lot harder than it needed to be. Adam is more interested in how his "job" is done today as opposed to how the decision-making works today. Now don't get me wrong, Adam is interested in all aspects of Movie-Making, but being a Maker, it's only natural that his passion lies with the physicality and practicality of creation rather than the theoretical and ideology of creation.

And Adam is just so good at knowing what questions to ask, how to elicit the kind of institutional knowledge and information that would be interesting to someone on the outside looking in, a 'fishbowl-er', but not necessarily self-evidently interesting to someone who has already grown gills. A cook is always tasting food through the cooking process, so there isn't an amazing "wow" moment when they finally eat the end result. But for all the other people being served the food, they can have that wow moment. That's the real joy in eating at a restaurant. Everyone gets the joy of the first bite.

I helped build a massive vault door and frame for Tales From the Loop. It was about 7’x7’x2’. All made of 3/4” plywood and skinned with 3/8” mdf. Despite our efforts to trim weight, it was still extremely heavy. The day of mating the door to the frame entailed the use of power planers and belt sanders and the eventual use of a hidden wheel at the latch side.
