Early detection is key in the treatment of cancer. Will waited longer than necessary before he talked to a doctor about his symptoms. Later, he found out he had testicular cancer. Find out his full story here.

Had surgery on 2/28/2024 to remove a 2.8cm tumor on left testicle. Pathology results revealed stage 1A pure seminoma, non-spreading outside and contained within the testicle. It's been removed and I'm recovering from surgery. Doctor said now I have to be monitored for the next 5 years with blood tests, x rays and CT scans, as per cancer protocol. Doctor is very confident that the surgery took care of it and I can live a normal life. She said the return rate is approx 5% but she feels highly unlikely. She said in the unlikely event that it does return, it can be treated with chemo & radiation. Still, she feels very confident the surgery took care of it all. She said it would have been a completely different story if I would have delayed by like a year or two. No one wants to hear "cancer"...NO ONE. Been a wreck the last two weeks because I have a wife and 5 month old twin babies. All I pray for is to live long enough to see my children grow into adults and for the gift to be able to be a grandfather one day.

TC survivor here. 🤚 My one year milestone was back in July. Check yourself regularly guys and don't wait to go to the Dr if you find something, it's not worth the risk.

Hey .... I am experiencing lower back pain could it be cancer?

@@shoten7104 I did have lower back pain due to TC as most do. Along with that most of the time there is a lump on one or both of the testicles. I would suggest going to a Urologist to have them take a look at you. You can never be too careful.

@@shoten7104 I was 31 when diagnosed. Other symptoms I had were pain in the testicle with the lump and I was getting fatigued very easily. I would recommend anyone to see a Dr at least once a year to get an examination done. This is not medical advice, just a friendly thought.

If you feel a lump that hurts to the touch then tell your parent/guardian about it so they can take you to the doctor for a checkup

First step is self-examination. Second step is to have your doctor examine you. It is a physical examination followed by blood work, followed by radiology.

What 9 hour surgery did you need to have how are you now ?
@theBusterMan215
@theBusterMan215 2 жыл бұрын
The 9-hour surgery is an RPLND. Retro-Peritoneal Lymph Node Dissection. It’s a surgery where they open up the abdomen fully and the doctor will fish out and remove 35-40 lymph nodes around your kidney and spinal area. Very delicate and serious surgery. The surgery to remove the testicle is called a radical inguinal orchiectomy, which is about a one hour surgery that is outpatient (you go home the same day) I’m a testicular cancer patient, btw.

Guys please have a birth control test near by and use it, if you get a pregnant outcome it means your female hormones are high and that happens when your body is fighting cancer or going though it, I am 30 now and it's been 5 years since my surgery, life will never be the same, pain, and life changing. Yet it's not enough of a a reason to give up on your self and others who love you. Be strong and now that you are not alone. And if it's meant to be it will be. God bless you all and protect you and your loved ones from cancer.
