Thank for your reply Barney, history is really on the fence about where the word (religion) originated, now the word (religion) finds it roots in the Latin word (religio) St. Augustine, he says, found the origin of the word religio in the verb re eligere (to re-elect), Cicero in the verb re legit (to ponder it to read again), and Lactantius in the verb religare (to bind back). Now the were all pretty much in line and in a way you are right it can mean to rediscover the link with God that sin has severed. But in any case Barney it's very clear to see that you yourself are trying to as you put it (re-link) with God. This once again confirms that you and every one else in your movement are part of religion.

But as born again Christians we distance ourselves from saying we are religious because of what man has done with religion. It has been corrupted and twisted. So many false religions and so called Christian faiths that are false. James 1:27 this is the only religion God accepts. These two things in this scripture picture the heart of a Christian. Godbless

well that's a strange logic eddie, you can distance yourself from a church or movement but you can't distance yourself from the word that describes your actions, there is no getting away from that fact, it is what it is. Don't get me wrong I know where your coming from you just want to do your own thing without any connection or affiliation to any other church and I'm not trying to be disrespectful or slander your faith so if I have come across that way I apologize.

That was a very good testimony and thank god you have found our lord Jesus Christ, but to be honest I'm really confused because you say religion can't save any man and I get the feeling that your say your not part of a religion, do you understand what the word (religion) means in the inglish language it means "belief in and worshiping of a supreme supernatural controlling power, especially a personal God"

Don't get me wrong I'm very happy that you found Jesus and that he's made a big difference in your life but I'm confused are we supposed to have a religion a good religion or not what does the Bible say This is religion, clean and undefiled before God the Father: to visit orphans and widows in their tribulations, and to keep yourself immaculate, apart from this age. Amen as a Catholic I do believe in every one of them scriptures you've just pointed out and thank you for your reply but again I think you avoided the question does God want me to have a good religion or a Bad Religion which would it be would he want me to have a bad religion or a good religion which is the one he would want also I've haven't read and then vs where it says that I am saved and guaranteed to get to heaven as long as I have accepted Jesus as my personal lord and savior as a Catholic we 100% agree that it is by the grace of Jesus Christ that we are saved but my question was does God want me to have a bad religion or a good religion could you help answer that please

EastMidlandsdriveways John I know you didn't ask me but I will try to answer your question with the help of God, when Barney was talking about 'religion' in this video he meant traditions practiced by men, the Catholic church is full of these practices and is also filled with idols, nowhere in the Bible does it tell us to venerate Mary, it tells us not to make any graven image of anything that is in the Heavens or on the Earth (statues, depictions of Christ, Crucifixes etc) also we are to confess our sins to Jesus Christ alone not to some man in a confessions booth, religion can basically be summed up as the effort of man to reach God but it is through the grace of God alone through which we are saved when He sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins, not through our effort but by His ! Going to church any amount of times a week (let alone once on Sunday) does not count for anything, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is what counts, and to do that you must first confess to Him alone all of your sins and repent of them, and then ask Him to come into your heart and be Lord of your life, He gave His life for us so we must give our lives to Him !
