The Eagles drank pickle juice on the sidelines because one of the coaches I think had heard about it being used in college. Now today you certainly have access to a lot more electrolyte infused waters and science used... but studies were done showing that pickle juice did indeed help reduce the cramping.

The pickle pops would be great for people who get heat stroke easily or spend long days in the heat, like construction workers. One would hope you would know, that it's the spices in the juice (brine) that make a cucumber into a pickle. You can use the same juice with spices to make pickled eggs. No pickle (soaked in brine cucumber) needed. And "pickle" juice is definitely a great, quick fix for leg cramps. I keep a jug in my refrigerator just for that reason. Tho, those individual "tubes" would probably take up less room, and stay fresh longer.
@robloxislandsbyfeathersongКүн бұрын
It is not the spices in the brine that make a cucumber into a pickle; it is the brine itself that pickles a cucumber. The only thing spices do is add flavor. You need a brine made of water and vinegar and/or salt to turn pickles into cucumbers. Spices are optional as they don't do the pickling.

@JamieSnell4022 күн бұрын
Dishwasher magnet vs dishwinkle.. The dishwinkle selling point is that you forget to flip the magnets. But wouldn’t you have the same exact problem of forgetting to empty the dishwinkle of water 🤦 It solves nothing. Actually it’s worse than nothing.. the magnets tell you from the outside if the dishes are clean or dirty. The dishwinkle sits inside so you have to open the door. At that point you can just look at the dishes to see if they are clean or not.
@3DJapanКүн бұрын
I think you're already taking things out of the machine so taking one more thing out would be easy to remember.
@JamieSnell402Күн бұрын
@3DJapan It seems we might have different understandings of the intended purpose of these types of devices. Let me clarify the problem with how I think a dishwasher magnet should work: Small disclaimer, I wrote this story, posted it, then had ChatGPT proof-read it and I replaced the original text with the proof-read version. The story flows much better after the proof-read but now it feels a bit robotic. Disclaimer finished. Here's the story: Imagine a family of four-parents and two teenage children. Over the course of five meals, the dishwasher gets filled. At some point, the dad notices it’s full, runs the dishwasher, and flips the dishwasher magnet to the “clean” side. After the cycle finishes, the dishes are now clean. Now, let’s fast forward to the next meal. The dishwasher is still full of clean dishes, but hasn’t been emptied yet. During the meal, one of the children finishes eating first and goes to put away their dirty dish. They need to decide whether to place it in the dishwasher or the sink. Using the magnet as a guide, they see the dishwasher is marked as “clean.” This tells them the dishwasher hasn’t been emptied yet, so they put their dirty dish in the sink to be loaded later. Later, another family member empties the dishwasher and flips the magnet to the “dirty” side. By the next meal, the dishwasher is ready to collect dirty dishes again. When the family checks the magnet and sees “dirty,” they know to put their dirty dishes directly into the dishwasher instead of the sink.
@yetinotherКүн бұрын
@@JamieSnell402 You completely miss the part of the argument where you forgot to flip over the indicator to dirty, The indicator still says clean, everybody's dishes are in the sink and the dishwasher is empty, this happens every time with my partner. The advantage to this indicator inside the dishwasher is if you open the dishwasher and see water in the indicator you know to put it in the sink, but it also prompts people to empty the dishwasher and load the dishes instead of everything sitting in the sink
@JamieSnell402Күн бұрын
@@yetinotherI cleaned up my reply up a bit.. I was just giving a best case scenario of how I think the magnets should work. Hopefully, it reads better now.
@goose-lw6jsКүн бұрын
sounds like the magnet and this thing actually serve two different purposes. the magnet is an incentive to be lazy and instead of opening the dishwasher, emptying it and putting your dirty dishes in, you wait for someone else to do it and don't even take a look. this "new" device just makes it easier to tell if the dishes in the dishwasher are dirty or not. not something i personally would have an issue with when i already opened the dishwasher 🤷

So, experiment with putting your speaker transducers on various thicknesses of wood panels, plastic panels, etc., and compare that way. With the dishwinkle, you're just replacing one thing to remember to change for a different thing to remember to change! At least with the magnet, you don't have to open the dishwasher! I have one word for the dishwinkle: STUPID! Those pickle pops though sound delicious! 😝

So, the idea behind pickle pops is they're a way to cool off and restore electrolytes after you've been sweating. It's pretty common for cyclists who race or do long rides (like the MS150) to take a shot of pickle juice afterward, and I've heard it's pretty common in running and other sports, too, so that's where they got the idea. If you don't need to replenish your electrolytes, that's way too much salt.

For our house where there are only two of us, the Dishwinkle would be highly problematic. I hand wash items frequently. We probably run the dishwasher MAYBE once every three weeks. The water would start to stink up the dishwasher. I wouldn’t want to spill the water in the reservoir because the dishwasher has already pumped the water out. Allowing it to spill into the tub would leave me with the same problem as above. I will stick with my magnet, that I also forget to flip 90% of the time.

From there we started making them at home in ice trays when the pickle jar was empty. And now you pay eight bucks for six of them.

If clean dishes aren’t a way to tell about a dishwasher them I’m not clear why to use one…

I agree if dishwasher works you can see that they are clean

I add the detergent and close the little door as soon as I empty the dishwasher of clean dishes. Then it doesn’t matter if someone does a rinse cycle - if the little detergent dispenser door is closed, I know the dishes are dirty. If the door is open, the dishes are clean

About 10 years ago now I picked up some of those speaker things and they were loud enough through a pizza box to get the cops called to the hotel room lol we use them at my professional haunted attraction we play sound effects and things through skeletons and other props nothing like creepy sounds coming out of a coffin

Those speakers are cool. I'd put them inside decorative floor vases.

Exciter drivers (speakers) are such a neat technology. Some folks use exciters on big foam insulating boards to create giant speakers, it's a fun KZbin rabbit hole! The sound is not audiophile quality, tuning and adjustment is required, it's imperfect, but it's also super, super cool.

There was a flat panel speaker that actually used hard Styrofoam panels for the diaphragm.

@valvenator Yes!! Apparently they can put out quite good sound, and they can be a fun DIY project, too! I wish I wasn't lazy.

I live in the Philippines - how about a cost of $7.50 including shipping. BUT, no magnet mounting. TWS is the "knock-off?" king of BT speakers. I have several and they work as advertised. The adds say glass is best for mid-range. Pickles are very high in Sodium and the extra salt is what helps to reduce leg cramps. I'm 77 and suffer from middle of the night cramps if I don't consume enough salt. My companion dosen't add very much when she cooks. I do take Zinc and eat bananas. 500mg is the minimum recommend amount - 2,300 is the max.

i had a single speaker version of the first one over ten years ago, it was awesome, depending on the surface, the sound was different.

The Romans drank posca, a vinegar/wine beverage as a Gatorade kinda thing, so maybe the pickle pop works similarly.

I wouldn't like the dishwasher thing, I pack my dishwasher, so any space used up is space lost. My dishwasher also tells me when my dishes are clean so I guess I'm lucky lol 🤣
@darvon61Күн бұрын
What we do with dishwasher, if the soap door is closed, dishes are dirty. If soap door is open and empty dishes are clean.

Those humbirds are very cool. For lightweight projector setup when camping for example.
