About 20 to 25 years ago the Eagles were playing the Cowboys in an NFL game in Dallas and the temperature was like over 100. The Eagles drank pickle juice on the sidelines because one of the coaches I think had heard about it being used in college. Now today you certainly have access to a lot more electrolyte infused waters and science used... but studies were done showing that pickle juice did indeed help reduce the cramping.

I wonder if the popcorn wasn't supposed to be canadian bacon, which is ham flavor. The pickle pops would be great for people who get heat stroke easily or spend long days in the heat, like construction workers. Pickles help prevent heat exhaustion by keeping your mineral salt level higher when you are drinking large amounts of fluids to stay hydrated. Same reason they prevent muscle cramps.

One would hope you would know, that it's the spices in the juice (brine) that make a cucumber into a pickle. You can use the same juice with spices to make pickled eggs. No pickle (soaked in brine cucumber) needed. And "pickle" juice is definitely a great, quick fix for leg cramps. I keep a jug in my refrigerator just for that reason. Tho, those individual "tubes" would probably take up less room, and stay fresh longer.
@robloxislandsbyfeathersong
@robloxislandsbyfeathersong Ай бұрын
It is not the spices in the brine that make a cucumber into a pickle; it is the brine itself that pickles a cucumber. The only thing spices do is add flavor. You need a brine made of water and vinegar and/or salt to turn pickles into cucumbers. Spices are optional as they don't do the pickling.

You aren't going to find "Pickle" as an ingredient because Pickles are literally Cucumbers in a Vinegar bath/marinade. You might also see dill in there if they're dill flavored. Also, freezing a salty anything will just bring out the salty flavor because everything, except the salt, is more compacted when it freezes.

Dishwasher magnet vs dishwinkle.. The dishwinkle selling point is that you forget to flip the magnets. But wouldn’t you have the same exact problem of forgetting to empty the dishwinkle of water 🤦 It solves nothing. Actually it’s worse than nothing.. the magnets tell you from the outside if the dishes are clean or dirty. The dishwinkle sits inside so you have to open the door. At that point you can just look at the dishes to see if they are clean or not.

@JamieSnell402

@3DJapan It seems we might have different understandings of the intended purpose of these types of devices. Let me clarify the problem with how I think a dishwasher magnet should work: Small disclaimer, I wrote this story, posted it, then had ChatGPT proof-read it and I replaced the original text with the proof-read version. The story flows much better after the proof-read but now it feels a bit robotic. Disclaimer finished. Here's the story: Imagine a family of four-parents and two teenage children. Over the course of five meals, the dishwasher gets filled. At some point, the dad notices it’s full, runs the dishwasher, and flips the dishwasher magnet to the “clean” side. After the cycle finishes, the dishes are now clean. Now, let’s fast forward to the next meal. The dishwasher is still full of clean dishes, but hasn’t been emptied yet. During the meal, one of the children finishes eating first and goes to put away their dirty dish. They need to decide whether to place it in the dishwasher or the sink. Using the magnet as a guide, they see the dishwasher is marked as “clean.” This tells them the dishwasher hasn’t been emptied yet, so they put their dirty dish in the sink to be loaded later. Later, another family member empties the dishwasher and flips the magnet to the “dirty” side. By the next meal, the dishwasher is ready to collect dirty dishes again. When the family checks the magnet and sees “dirty,” they know to put their dirty dishes directly into the dishwasher instead of the sink.

@@JamieSnell402 You completely miss the part of the argument where you forgot to flip over the indicator to dirty, The indicator still says clean, everybody's dishes are in the sink and the dishwasher is empty, this happens every time with my partner. The advantage to this indicator inside the dishwasher is if you open the dishwasher and see water in the indicator you know to put it in the sink, but it also prompts people to empty the dishwasher and load the dishes instead of everything sitting in the sink

sounds like the magnet and this thing actually serve two different purposes. the magnet is an incentive to be lazy and instead of opening the dishwasher, emptying it and putting your dirty dishes in, you wait for someone else to do it and don't even take a look. this "new" device just makes it easier to tell if the dishes in the dishwasher are dirty or not. not something i personally would have an issue with when i already opened the dishwasher 🤷

I have a pair of those hummingbird Bluetooth actuators. I bought a pair several years ago for $5 and they were fantabulous! I went to a party at my cousin's house and we put them on the dog house and it sounded like a high quality speaker system. He fell in love with them so I gave them to him. I bought another pair a few months ago and they were $20 this time. I think the people that complain may have defective pieces or may not understand how they work. It's tricky but when you get it right, they're amazing! They're also perfect for pranking your family members or friends. Stick them to the window from outside and play some weird stuff on it. About the speakers; there are actual speakers made that use this same technology. They put a transducer on a flat panel to generate the sound. So, experiment with putting your speaker transducers on various thicknesses of wood panels, plastic panels, etc., and compare that way. I'll bet there's one item out there which will sound surprisingly good. If you do this, try putting the transducer not only in the center of the panel, but somewhere off-center.

I might have to take a look at the Humbird. I bought a pair of a similar item but never continued using them. I think they make for a great prank potential when paired with an inconspicuous location that produces good audio range. You'd probably need some good non-foamy 2 side tape to maintain the volume though.

For the price of the Dishwinkle, I can put a whole lot of small squirts of ketchup or mustard on the inside of the dishwasher door. If ketchup or mustard is present inside the door, then the dishes are dirty. Easy peasy. And super cheap. Even free if I take home the extra packets of McD's ketchup I always seem to end up with. I go ahead and put the tiny dab of ketchup on the inside of the door when I empty the clean dishes out of the machine rather than waiting for loading. I don't work for the government so I don't need expensive and/or complicated solutions for simple problems.

The dishwasher thing is hilarious to me. I am the only person who uses my dishwasher so I know exactly what is clean or not. The machine holds clean dishes. Dirty ones go in the sink to wait for the next run. So a dish is either in the machine clean, or in the sink waiting. There's no question. If the sink is empty, the machine is running or has already run and everything inside is clean. It's so simple I had no idea people needed reminders.

ever since i saw the humbirg speaker ive wanted to try to attach it to a accoustic guitar with a pickup and connect it to a headphone guitar amp and see if you can use the same sound of the acoustic guitar as its own speaker almost. idk how to explain how it would truly work exsactly and not even sure if it would without getting abunch of feedback but theres somthing called the tonewood amp that is alot like the same thing already that adds reverb to a accoustic guitar using kind of the same tech

Woah, acoustic bass (and not overly precious with it, lol). Nice! Those buttons seem terrible, but I kinda want to try those speakers with some foam panels. Been wanting to mess around with that idea with wired transducers anyway; this would be an interesting addition to that experiment.

OK, my parents had a dishwasher growing up. We never had a device to tell us where the dishes were dirty or clean we could just look at the dishes and know if they were dirty or clean. Also, if the dishwasher is closed, the dishes are clan if the dishwasher is Open a little bit the’re dirty. Sounds like an unnecessary product

Bailey wasn't saying she didn't like it. She was just wondering if she could eat it. Hard pass on the popcorn. it's too expensive and FYI, you can get popcorn flavoring powders at the grocery store. I have a little collection that I rotate through: salt and vinegar, chili cheese, ranch, lemon pepper and jalapeno cheese. The pickle pop is ingenious if it's really dill pickle juice. When cucumbers are pickled, they leech out the potassium in them into the pickling liquid making it a great electrolyte replacement. When I have leg or foot cramps, I just take a couple of swallows and it makes them stop. That looked like just the right amount too.

It's great if you're going to dehydrate because the combination of the salt and the vinegar usually there's vinegar and some of these but not always is quite a way to avoid dehydration it kind of helps so my guess is the pickle pop was designed to be the equivalent supposedly and natural equivalent to Gatorade or something like it.

Rather than spend money on the pickle pops, you could pour the pickle juice from the jar into snack size zip lock baggies, freeze and viola. I think I would use the juice from bread and butter pickles though, it would be sweeter and easier on the tastebuds.

11:03 "Pickle" IS Water, Vinegar and salt. 12:00 they said "pickle" NOT pickled gherkins or other. And hence, you would call it pickle "juice". Pickle IS the juice, but you normally have a picklED vegetable.. Interesting it expires in only 2 years. Pickling is a way to extend the use by date of vegetables. ie its a preservative. SOo, the preservative has a (short) used by date?

For our house where there are only two of us, the Dishwinkle would be highly problematic. I hand wash items frequently. We probably run the dishwasher MAYBE once every three weeks. The water would start to stink up the dishwasher. I wouldn’t want to spill the water in the reservoir because the dishwasher has already pumped the water out. Allowing it to spill into the tub would leave me with the same problem as above. I will stick with my magnet, that I also forget to flip 90% of the time.

When my kid was in high school and had to wear a heart monitor to school for a few days, I talked to the school nurse to give her a heads up. She told me that some kids with the same heart condition kept pickle juice in the nurse’s office as a quick remedy for symptoms. I would have never thought about that myself but it makes sense. Now we have pickle pops in our freezer

Exciter drivers (speakers) are such a neat technology. Some folks use exciters on big foam insulating boards to create giant speakers, it's a fun KZbin rabbit hole! The sound is not audiophile quality, tuning and adjustment is required, it's imperfect, but it's also super, super cool.

I don't know if it's a southern thing or not, but we've been making pickle pops down here in Alabama since I was a teenager at least. First time I encountered them was at a football game concession stand, and it was just pickle juice frozen in those little clear condiment cups. 25 cents. From there we started making them at home in ice trays when the pickle jar was empty. And now you pay eight bucks for six of them.

If you see this comment .. could uou try the speaker on the side of an empty or full cooler? Or if anyone ever has tried them ... If those speakers sound decent on the side of a cooler... That would be a perfect use for them. Esp if there are 2, you could use one til it runs out then have a backup to use while you charge the other etc ... That would be great for camping or any kind of outdoor actitvity.... If they are waterproof it would be even better ... The sound may not be perfect but they weigh nothing and would probably be great for camping and hiking etc

So, the idea behind pickle pops is they're a way to cool off and restore electrolytes after you've been sweating. It's pretty common for cyclists who race or do long rides (like the MS150) to take a shot of pickle juice afterward, and I've heard it's pretty common in running and other sports, too, so that's where they got the idea. If you don't need to replenish your electrolytes, that's way too much salt.

The dishwinklie has a cool name, but that seems like the only good thing about it. It's not any better than a dishwasher magnet! You STILL have to remember to empty it! AND you have to actually open the dishwasher to look at it. At that rate, you may as well take out cup or utensil to see if they're clean. With the dishwinkle, you're just replacing one thing to remember to change for a different thing to remember to change! At least with the magnet, you don't have to open the dishwasher! I have one word for the dishwinkle: STUPID! Those pickle pops though sound delicious! 😝
