I think you can change capacitors to make it hold longer. Could be desirable for talking. A little weird though.

Yes I'm not sure honestly if it's intentional or something wrong with it. I've never had one do this and have probably owned a dozen with peak kits

My peak kit only works on a dummy load and not on an antenna.

If it has a Mercury switch in it it could be a bad Mercury switch
