Your relationship with your mom is very similar to mine, and I always rope my mom into my activities since she’s not very confident in her abilities at times. Eventually she concedes to having a great time because it’s spent with me. I can totally see where you get your creativity and kindness from! ❤️

When I was working at an answering service, waaaaay back in the 1980's, my bestie and I played a game I made up called Scribble. We took turns making meaningless lines with a pen then the other would turn it into a picture. I feel like I was ahead of my time. 😂

You know what? I reckon your mum's page wouldn't look out of place at MoMA! 🤩 It's always lovely to watch you with your Mum. The camera loves her, she comes across so well. I'm sorry to hear she's not been feeling in the best of headspaces but I'm glad she's getting to feel a little better. Time and patience and being kind to yourself, that's the ticket, but it sounds to me like she's listening to what her head needs and doing the right things to feel well again. The more I see of your Mom, the more I adore her. That note about the guppies is pure genius. She is hilarious! 😂😂 I love that we see more of her personality with each video as she gets more comfortable around the cameras and stuff. I haven't tried a reverse colouring page as such, but I often doodle stuff out of the blobs of colour left by alcohol markers on the reverse of a page. It's a good warm-up exercise if you haven't drawn in a while to get your creativity flowing and your hand moving, but I do get bored of it fairly quickly so it's not something I would buy a book of or do regularly. Your pieces both looked great! Perhaps if you have a dresser or table, etc, you want to upcycle, your mom could do a tutorial of how she does that for a video next time she visits? Does she drive from Florida? She could bring some of the things she uses with her if so. That way, you guys don't need to buy a bunch of stuff for it that won't get used again or very often, but she can still show how she does a bigger project (the crackle glaze one was really interesting). 😊

We used to do this as kids for free. You make dots and connect them when you see an image. Paint blobs and when dried, trace what you see. We would draw squiggles and then color them. All free.
