I can pretty much always tell when I have a sinus infection. It's hard to tell apart from strep throat though, which I've only had once - it feels like the inside of my chest is drafty. And the inside of my nose feels really cold when I breathe in. Not sure if there's a specific reason for that but every time I've ever had that feeling (minus the one time it was strep) I knew it was a sinus infection before I even went to the doc.

@KingEthanual3 жыл бұрын
Lol
@rebekahweber24133 жыл бұрын
Defibrillator only works in v tac or v fib. You compress the chest to try to get it into the shock able rhythms. Chest compressions can only maybe get to vfib but you do have to be aggressive. Foo foo compressions are not gonna do it. Like starting a lawn mower. Anyone can just pull the string. But the ones who want the lawnmower to start will jerk it quick and clean. You need to be concise to be successful. If you did not break a rib, you did not do it right. I have done it 4 times. My longest was 35 min on 1 pt. We found him blue. He was pink when I dropped him off at the ED. It was an unknown down time so I doubt it was a successful outcome, but I rode the stretcher anyway and gave him the best outcome. He was still going when we left for our next call. 3 were unknown down times. All 3 had a pulse when I dropped them off. The last one I did last January, he did survive. I was there shortly after he collapsed. He did make it. That was hard. His teenage son was there. We had no defibrillator. Just me. No one else wanted to because of COVID. I jumped in. Just compressions. No mouth to mouth anymore. Wished I had an ambu bag though.

Robots that learn image move at this pattern to, they dont know what a cat is, humans put humrets tousens of them etc.,the bots learns what a cat is,but is not simple they just put images test bots ,the bot know what a cat is but if you put a dog he doesnt know anymore(i saw a video on youtube about that)the bots go an learn based on what is new ,if the cat look like a mouse he will not found, if the cat is upside down etc. Bot knows more and more as the human give them more and more information. And as more information they get they learn the patternin a way, a bot is not good for medicine just because every pacient is different, and 2 pacients that have similar diagnosis will have 100 meds, mods will think diabets :insulin bum another one. some need medication , some need medication and insulin, some need insulin, plus exist pacients that have to much water in body(overweight because of water retain), a bot would think emc is to big so that person should person should go to gym to burn calories(when he doesnt have calories, he have exces of water and something that help with that is best), the problem is that bots are efficients but also they are to paterny in the single term(medicine always exist something that doesnt follow the rule). Some of the medicine can be taken especiality from doctors that dont know what they are doing ,and make a future for better doctors

Ah, I think I see the problem. The AI must have taken in everything from your videos. Including the medical memes, tiktoks, and inaccurate medical dramas. Now everything makes sense.
@fongus64203 жыл бұрын
The reason the AI seems to spit out completely wrong info, is because it is just looking at random patterns of words that you feed into it and combining it with answers that you feed into it as well. It connects words together depending on which words are nearby and appear most frequently in the answers. With this it can take a new question, and look into its bin of patterns to connect words to their answer words. The problem is, it has no context or meaning to these words. It just connects the dots, so for example with ""Why do I pass out at the sight of blood?" it saw blood, and likely being fed info about diabetes when blood is talked about, it added that to the answer. It only has already answered questions and cant really tell the meaning of a question.
@basicallyblobbity42262 жыл бұрын
All I got from this is robot stupid
@quillmorningstar87132 жыл бұрын
So, if we got a robot to understand the meaning of a question, hypothetically speaking it could replace doctors for mundane medical questions. For example, something like "Doesn't staying outside in the winter give me a cold?" Or "Why are people allergic to pollen?" I don't expect a robot answering complex questions that require someone's entire medical history any time soon, if ever. But I do expect robots to eventually be able to answer the more common less serious questions. Or, ya know. It could always teach people how vaccines actually work and get rid of those dumb anti-vax conspiracies. Edit: By answer I don't mean diagnose. More of a possible suggestion for the doctor if anything. Guess the robot would be more for the doctor and not exactly the patient.

I'm a PhD student who's working on Generative Networks albeit for a different stuff. The answers are mostly non sensical because the AI is just making up sentences that follow basic English language structure and the linguistic rules that come with it. It has absolutely no idea of what any of the words or sentences mean. If you want an AI that actually forms meaningful sentences, you'd have to make what's called a "Knowledge based Generative Network", which is exactly what it sounds like. In addition to giving the captions files to the AI, you'd also have to give it all the knowledge that Dr Mike has. That's a very difficult task, both practically and theoretically even, because we'd have to find a way to quantify all the knowledge that Dr Mike has accumulated, which is difficult for a human to put into concrete words. We could feed it all the medical knowledge that we have, but then it'd basically be WebMD but on drugs. Although that's something that I think would be fun to see. Love the video, as always

Ah, the tonsils thing reminded me - When I was but a small kid, I used to have tonsillitis every few weeks, again and again, I was constantly taking antibiotics, even going as far as every morning for a shot of pendepon (A sort of antibiotic) to my glute. I was told that one day, my mom just got sick and tired of me being sick all the times yet the doctor we were deferred to doing nothing about it. She apparently started arguing very loudly with him that he still refused to approve having my tonsils removed, to the point the senior consultant of the ward heard her, came looking what was it about, took one peak into my throat and started screaming at the doctor that my tonsils absolutely had to be removed as soon as possible, and that he was such an idiot for being so adamantly against it - Turns out one of my tonsils was *rotting away* with how badly it was infected or something (Again, I was merely told this by parents). I got admitted and in just a day or two, my tonsils were gone. And since then, I never had issues with tonsillitis again. I guess its like the wisdom tooth removals - Sure, its true that many people do get issues with them in their life, but that's still not a reason enough to remove them preemptively, and the doc was really, *really* trying not to have to do that. Hah.

I love how AI Dr. Mike has fried my brain cell's (is that medically or scientifically possible?) and put me in a state of forever questioning my life with his answers and staying up till 3 a.m. to actually think about the nonsense he said I also love that the real Dr. Mike blew away my mind with the medical facts, like I never knew the circulation to the part that like being cooled by a fan *gets cut off*- - me, 12:01 A.M. on November 25 2021, Thursday.

5:55 One thing I learned in sports medicine/exercise physiology (I understand Doctor Mike has an interest in this field) is that a wet cloth on the back of the neck reduces the perception of heat in muggy conditions. I'm curious what the latest findings are regarding this particular practice and heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

That was a pretty interesting and entertaining idea! Sometimes, I like to have AI continue certain phrases based on context, especially trying to have it mimic someone's personality into it! This gave me an idea to try training using my own voice recordings over the years and trying to get it to talk about a relevant topic I've never gone in-depth about or something!

Serious question: do Newfies require less exercise than a German shepherd or Lab? You are all right but I've got my eye on Bear!❤🐶
@Agispsi3 жыл бұрын
All dogs should get the same minimum exercise time. Some dogs may be less wild and energetic during that time, but they still should get the exercise for both physical and mental health. Alot of "low energy" breeds are under stimulated because owners mistakenly believe that they can just leave their dogs inside as couch potatoes. It is no better for them, than it is for a human to lay around all day.
@therabbithat3 жыл бұрын
@@Agispsi that's not true. Huskies and dalmations, for example, require 15 miles a day, they were bred for stamina. Choosing a dog like that as a pet and not giving them the care they need is cruel. Please don't spread misinformation that will result in miserable lives for dogs. Greyhounds use all their energy in one burst, it's much easier to keep them happy as long as there is somewhere you can leave them off the leash. It's true that the minimal ammount of exercise all dogs need is still a lot and no breed should be a couch potato. But it is a fair question to ask if a dog needs 15 miles, or 3 miles a day, or just a few runs
@yeet2863 жыл бұрын
newfies dont require as much exercise as a gsd, newfies need up to 1 hour of exercise a day whereas a GSD needs minimum two hours.

My mom had that crazy hear your body function thing! For over 40 years no one could figure out what she was talking about. A couple years ago she had brain surgery to stop it and while she lost some balance she thought it was 100% worth it. So many times in my life she was so distracted when I talked to her. I had no idea she could hear her body to that degree!

Was it something she constantly was hearing, or would it come and go? That's amazing they could do surgery for that! I'm glad she's happy 😊

I don't get it though, if you have that condition since you're born, or just a very long time(like 40 years) wouldn't you get used to it and learn to tune it out? I'm happy there are treatments for this condition though nowadays.

Jumping on the medical question train, I sleep with my eyes open. My siblings and others who happen to be in the same room as me when I'm asleep have all confirmed it, and I wake up with dry eyes that I guess is because they are exposed to the air for hours. Is this "normal" in medical terms, like is anything wrong with it beyond dry eyes? I have only seen it mentioned in jokes, so genuinely curious. Love your vids, I've switched my background coding noise recently for more educational stuff like your channel and it's great learning new stuff!

Question: I've read online that oil is actually not 'healthy'. It is caloric dense, and does not have any nutritional value. What do you think about it?
@lucasstevens21993 жыл бұрын
Well, oil at first, is not specific enough to give you one answer as there are many different oils (oil is just liquid fat). But yes they are caloric dense as oil contains a lot of fats, and fat contains about double the caloric value as proteins or carbohydrates per unit of weight (which are the three sources of energy for our body). However calories are just a way of expressing the amount of energy you can obtain of it, so it´s really not a way to determine if something is good or bad. Oils hardly contain minerals, carbohydrates and proteins, thus so being rather low in nutritional value. Yet it´s actually mandatory for our body to get enough fats in order to function properly. And some oils like olive oil, canola oil, almond oil, sunflower oil... are actually one of the healthiest sources of fat for your body as they contain high percentage of unsaturated fat together with vitamins, and others components the body can put to good use. So as it is high in calories, and rather low in nutritional value, a lot of oils are actually proven to be very healthy. But others, like coconut oil or palm oil, aren´t so as they have higher percentages in saturated fats, which is the bad type of fats that give your body less benefits and more trouble. Finally this does not mean you should start eating these healthy oils in excess or consume it as an extra, on top of what you normally eat, but rather make it your primary intake of fats in replacement of some unhealthier fat sources. Hope this helps
