Levers are so much better than a joystick for the boom / bucket controls. You have so much more control. Also the Volvo joystick steering is pretty sweet once you get used to it.

Tim...This never ceases to amaze me! You have a 15 ton machine designed to operate eight hours a day almost every day and last at least ten years (about 150,000 hours) before needing any real work done to it and there is a 5.7 liter diesel six cylinder engine. Yet a 2.5 ton pickup needs a 6.7 liter diesel and if it can get 5,000 hours before needing major work/replacement you are damn lucky. The difference between a work diesel and the pickup throwaway diesels.

Ten years @ 8 hrs a day 5 day weeks = 20,800 hrs.

I love my l60h so far. Great for plowing snow, stacking logs and loading dirt.

I have driven 95% of wheel loaders from 70’s to current, the L220H is so powerful was incredible. Currently operating L 150H . Love optishift, but please Volvo,, time to drop the steering wheel, better seat cushion and you will have almost perfect machine . Until then CAT takes the cake for operator comfort.

I wish they would just implement the detachable wheel as an option straight from the factory (might do, but I think it's just after sale from 3rd party), I don't like where the only option is joystick or wheel. I want to be able to use the wheel depending on the job. I get it if all you do is one task in a quarry loading trucks but if you have different tasks it's nice to have the option to use the wheel for added precision, a detachable wheel would be a good compromise.

I used to love Volvo machines but they are not what they used to be. Their after treatment system is trash. The artic trucks are the best on the market as far as durability. We have 5 of them now but I need 7 to have 5 constantly running. My EC480 has been down 80% more than the PC490 primarily because of the after treatment.

Volvo do have machines like the high lift loader used in the timber industry. Volvo Forestry excavators are used for logging in places like the Pacific North West and Down Under. E.g KZbin channel TDX Ltd (formerly TransDiesel) title "On the Job with Bryant Logging and TransDiesel" - 19 Volvo machines at the time of filming. 3 models options 250 - 73K lbs, 300 - 81K lbs, 380 - 103K lbs. Factory rops cab with 1.25 inch margard front window. Factory straight boom option for log processor work.etc
