Don't mean to be off but for most of my 45 years moving loads all over Continental North America was with heavy equipment and oversize loads, If I could be so brave to offer a suggestion. A lot of people will say you don't need to cover the exhaust stacks (particularly when hauling equipment backward because the have a block inside that doesn't allow the air to reach the turbo and spin it when it not running) it does not however stop rain, snow and other elements from possibly entering engine components. It is always best and safest to cover exhaust . I used to use an old inner tube piece(about 2-3 ft. folded over and use a bungy to wrap around it.

Good point and contrary to logic perhaps, a pipe opening facing away from the direction of travel will suck in all the soot and dirt you are passing it through. The pipe sets up a low pressure area at the opening.

There aint much Swedish animore about Volvo . Most of the bigger excavators are mafe in South Korea at the formar Samsung Plant, some of the Smaler Machines come out of Germany and the miniExcavators come out of France, that was the formar Peljob Plant. The Loaders i think are stil produced in Sweden, but i am not 100% sure about that. Most of the Engines come out of the German Deutz Factory in wich Volvo has a big share

That L90 got plenty of life left in it. 20k hrs on a loader here in Sweden ain’t unusual. But if you are looking for a new bucket, i would recommend Volvos grading bucket. It has a low backside and a longer bottom, and that will give you clear sight of the cutting edge.

One of the worse things you can do to an internal combustion engine is run anti freeze throuth the engine ,it will destroy the rings and liners and if its in the oil it will gall the bearing. When anti freeze gets hot in a combustion chamber it crystalizes and sticks to the liners . In oil it will coat the bearings with a film and the oil cant lube the bearings like it suppose to do. This is a very clean machine thats seems to have been taken care of and not abused . It will give you years of great service. Or if you fix the few minor problems you could sell it for a good profit with no trouble. Id concentrate on the anti freeze issue first ,it can potentially cause you the most money and grief if its let go . I turned wrenches on diesels for 50 years and anti freeze in the oil was one of my priority fixes. If some operator forgot to turn off the key and it sat until the batteries ran dead that loader could of run up a lot of hours just sitting. As good as shape its in i really dont think its got 21 thousand working hours on it. Good luck, great buy.
