Best video thank you! Been looking for months why all these filter “systems” are so pricey. I’m doing this

Another detailed, informative video! So glad I found you and subscribed! If I could ask for anything more, it would be for an analysis of microbes before and after. There’s lots of stuff that can make you sick even in water with low chemical and sediment levels. I’ve seen a lot of buzz about using UV filters at the tap for drinking water. I’d be interested for your take on that. Thank you!

That’s a good idea. I do have 2 bacteria tests. Hmmm

Great video. Very informative. We use the camco filter, but we never drink water from the rv. We use it for washing dishes and shower only. After seeing your video, I will definitely try the 3 stage filter system. Thanks for the video.

Wished you showed the sediment meter results for each filtered bucket. Was it still 5500 for each?
@TodayWeGo2 жыл бұрын
The reading was identical for all of the tests, exactly 5507 ppm. That was the reason I didn’t show it, it just felt redundant.

How can the diy set up be sealed/filtering properly when those three filters have different heights and all different gaskets/seal dimensions? Good idea, but I suspect the filter choice needs some refinement.

So the purified water you showed with 0 PPM is that almost like distilled water? What is the limit on PPM considered safe? Also, do you carry and use a water softener? Great video!!
@TodayWeGo2 жыл бұрын
Exactly, RO or Reverse Osmosis is just a significantly more efficient way of purifying water. Ideally less than 500ppm is good for drinking water. The less the better. We do not currently have a water softener, but plan to one day. Thanks a bunch for watching!

oh no, i've been using the camco full time for a year :( most scientific, objective review I've found so far. can't help but wonder what the 'gold standard' is for testing water quality.. wonder if submitting original and filtered samples to a lab would be worthwhile?

Ok, so… how do I install that so it filters from my fresh water tank? And how often do you change each stage? Just curious. Especially on the install so it will filter water from my fresh water tank as well as city water…

If your rv sits unused for a few months to a year, can you still use the same Clear2o filter, or would mold grow in it?

Excellent build idea and exactly what I was seeking. Add in a water pump that plugs into AC and 12v and a great setup. Sorry, but your "water fundraiser" has absolutely ZERO credibility when you dump (at least) 3 gallons of water right onto the ground from your homemade system.
@TodayWeGo3 ай бұрын
I appreciate the feedback, and understand your concerns, however clean drinking water isn’t an issue where we are, and the water isn’t removed from the water cycle, so it isn’t quite as wasteful as it may seem. More of a financial issue (purification) than a waste of water. That fundraiser is to provide clean water to those who need it. Hopefully the good that this video has done for people outweighs the minuscule amount of water that will need to be cycled back through the system.

I'm estimating the chunk size of your 3" XtraBlue tablet at about 1/5th of a tablet/puck. Clorox directions are 2 tablets/pucks per 10,000 gallons. So your 1/5th tablet should treat about 1,000 gallons. Both your DIY filter unit and the Clear 2o filter did some impressive filtering, by reducing the chlorine level so much. Good Work!
