Nice TJ. Been riding this board since launch and this thing rips. Favorite board I've ever owned.

Hey TJ, thanks for your great videos/reviews! How is this Capita Aeronaut compared to the Jones Aviator 2.0 in stability, edge hold, speed, playfullness?
@KhalGioАй бұрын
Hi TJ nice vid! quick question, How this compare with the jones aviator ? in flex, stifness, pop, carving, Etc. Thanks !

I f*n love this board. Worked in every condition and has so much pop! Think i want to try to size down for resort days

Looks like a nice board, I’ve been waiting for a camber dominant stiffer board from Capita this one just might be what I’ve been looking for. Thanks for the review!

This is definitely one of the stiffer boards on the line, glad the review helped you out

Hi TJ. Nice rundown. How do you think it would it go in Japan?
@BoardArchiveАй бұрын
I think it could be a solid choice for Japan, would definitely be very versatile. I would try to bring something even more directional with you as well though for the super deep days.

Great content and reviews. Been watching your videos for years. I am looking for a new All Mountain board to replace my Super DOA. I also have a Kazu for the powder days. I don’t do a ton of park and mainly like to carve and look for jumps around the mountain. Do you think the Aeronaut would be a good replacement for the Super DOA? I also need the board to be somewhat playful for when I’m riding with the family but I need to also be able to charge hard when needed.

How’s this vs the Capita Mercury? Would you recommend the mercury or aeronaut for an all mountain board?
@BoardArchiveАй бұрын
They are both amazing boards, and probably the top 2 all-mountain boards I would recommend on the CAPiTA line. I will say that they each have a very different character and ride differently. The mercury has much more of a freestyle feel with all-mountain geometry, it is significantly more playful/pressable than the aeronaut. The aeronaut is more of a powerhouse and has an all-mountain/freeride feel. I hope that helps, we have a review of the Mercury coming soon
@JoseGontijo82Ай бұрын
Thank you for the quick reply and yes this helps.

@@JoseGontijo82 ok awesome. And I don’t mean that the mercury is soft it is just not as powerful as the aeronaut

Had the chance to test this board in Austria last season. Apart from my limited tech knowledge I really liked it, felt fun to ride. One Q, though: how would you compare this one to the Kazu (which is currently in my quiver)?

What do you think about east coast? It holds ok? also how do you think it compares to jones stratos? i have the impression that both are meant to be fast pop fun freeride/freestyle boards,
@BoardArchiveАй бұрын
the traction tech on the stratos may be helpful on the east coast. the aeronaut definitely holds a mean edge though. I would say the aeronaut has a more precise feeling overall.
@felipe2fpАй бұрын
@@BoardArchive based on your experience, what would you recommend for a 5'8 tall, 141lbs, us 7.5 mens boots? I'm debating if I should get 153cm or 155cm. I'm on ice coast but prob will use this for everything, from highspeed carving to moguls, trees, steep technical terrain with my skier friends, trips to powdery west coast :) Everything on One board guy xD my 3rd season but I basically ride everything (except 45 degress double blacks in whistler ... yet) and starting jumping/side hits. Btw, congrats, I think your reviews is the one I most enjoy watch, all spots covered and you ride pretty sick! I love your review on 22-23 jones stratos also :)

I agree with what TJ said this board for me excels at a higher speed over slow buttery riding , also very nice pop and stable landings make this a very fun board Nice review as always TJ!✌️ I’m also a bit torn I have the aeronaut and the slush slasher, which would everyone recommend to take to japan in January ✌️😁
@richardlao6611Ай бұрын
Bring both :) I have the aeronaut and brought it to Japan last season, as well as my powder board. I never rode the pow board! The aeronaut did everything I asked of it and would be the choice if I could only take one.. you're not going to get chest deep pow every day, even in Japan.
@StillskeetzАй бұрын
@@richardlao6611 thanks for the response mate that was my thoughts as well, if I can only bring one it shall be the aeronaut and if I’ve got the space for 2 definitely bringing the slushy for some hopeful pow days 😁✌️ thanks again for the response

Began snowboarding last year and i’m looking to buy a board thats gonna last a few years for me. Would this board be too hard to ride for someone who is beginner/intermediate? I’m quite fast at catching on to things and already feel decent at boarding, after being on the mountain 3 weeks last year.

I would not recommend this to someone that is only one year in to riding

TJ, surprised that you never reviewed the Mega Merc. It was Arthur's main board before his pro model, MY main board rn (😅) and given your appreciation of the Mega Death, the Aeronaut , the Super DOA and the Mercury, I'd have assumed you're interested in it. On another note: Thanks for all your top videos and collabs with some of my fav YTers (Casey, Daviiiiid) and greetings from Switzerland PS: The summary point overview is very helpful!

I think that damping is the word you’re looking for. Not dampening.
@BoardArchiveАй бұрын
You know i've never googled it until now. From a physics use case damping is definitely more accurate but dampen (active tense "dampening") does have the definition "To make something less strong or active" so it does work as well. For some reason I feel like saying damping in the context of a snowboard just sounds funny lol
@tonytorrance636Ай бұрын
@@BoardArchive This is what I’ve always been taught. Damping A physical process that reduces or prevents the oscillation of a system by dissipating energy. For example, shock absorbers in cars are a type of damping device that reduce the impact of bumps in the road. Dampening A verb that means to make something slightly wet or to check or lessen its activity or vigor. For example, walking in the dew and getting your socks wet is dampening.
@jerrychinnАй бұрын
In the context of reducing the vibration of the snowboard in motion, "damping" is your bet. Just like a car's shock absorber damps the oscilations of the spring. But even in that context many people used damp and dampen interchangeably.
@tonytorrance636Ай бұрын
@@jerrychinn I had an engineering professor who spent an entire class period yelling at us for using the word dampening. He was all red in the face screaming about getting things wet. It was pretty funny.
