A liitle tip; if you spread soft soap on the pot you are going to have over an open fire, all the soot will stick to the soap and is easy to just rinse off

C, Forget the red lead ,use the correct primer for the topcoat, apply the filler to bare metal or the recommended filler primer , Bingo job done 🏆

Tip if you use single pack filler ie polyester use a single pack primer if you use two pack filler ie epoxy then it needs to be a two pack primer.

Makes sense to red oxide before filler, no point red oxiding filler that won't rust. Maybe just a thick coat with a sanded key then use car body filler ,then the blue 👍

You need to use a 2 pack filler i suggest P38 ISOPON its designed to be used on metal you can get it from Halfords
