A few hacks: The slot in the middle of the spaghetti spoon is used to measure out 1 serving of uncooked spaghetti (which can also be used to double as a match to light deep candle wicks). The holes in saucepan/pot handles can be utilized not only to hang them, but also as a place to stash the end of the utensil while not in use thereby containing the drips into the pot and eliminating the need for a spoon rest.

Lots of us celiacs are also lactose intolerant, probably because of the damage gluten did before diagnosis. But I fully agree that if you don't have to eat gluten free ..... don't! Gluten free diets as a fad have been a mixed blessing for those of us with medical conditions.

We used to have noodle eating contests with my mom. Whoever could crunch up the dry noodle fastest won the title of taste tester for the night (of course she let us all taste test anyways just for fun) I will say this though they can stab you in the gums but it was so worth the memories 🥰🥰

Rachel- spaghetti hack for you that I learned from Alton Brown. One, with dried pasta, you don’t necessarily need to wait for the water to boil. I make mine all the time by just putting the pasta in the water and then letting it boil and it comes out fine. Too if you wanna cut the time even more, try using a deep skillet instead of a pot for pasta. Because the spaghetti noodles will be laying down fully immersed in the water the entire time, they’ll cook faster, and you don’t have to use as much water. Instead of it taking like 20 minutes to make spaghetti for me, I can do it in like 7.
